Fans of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” are no strangers to drama, as the show has largely been built around that concept for quite a long time now. It’s no secret that the producers of this show love to keep their fans on the edges of their seats and to keep them talking about the various tense moments that keep happening between the cast members, and it looks like the current season 8 is going to continue that trend with full force.
The very first episode of the season arrived with a lot of drama and moments of strong tension, and fans saw the return of Sheree Whitfield, one of the old cast members who decided to leave the show a few years ago, only to return now and start causing drama pretty much immediately. It’s not known if her presence on the show is going to have any more serious implications for her or the other cast members, but it looks like she alone is going to make this season a very tense one.
What she did upon returning was to get into a fight with Kenya Moore immediately, and as it turned out, the two of them used to be neighbors some time ago. However, Whitfield actually claimed that she had no idea why this fight took place, and she wasn’t sure what Kenya Moore had against her. She went on to add that she didn’t really know Kenya other than meeting her very briefly through Miss Lawrence, but she was still generally confused over her current standing with the other cast member.
The fight went on until the end of the episode too, and this alone has led fans to believe that there will be a lot of tension between the two cast members all throughout the season, and this won’t be just an isolated incident in the first episode. Whether or not this is going to spread to other cast members or if it will be an isolated feud between the two of them is hard to tell right now, but they certainly have the potential to cause a lot of trouble in the show and we are hoping that the producers aren’t going to let them take things overboard and escalate the drama to ridiculous levels.
And yet, many are already suspecting that other housewives are also going to join the drama, as it would certainly be in the style of this show and it would also be something with the potential to drive up its ratings to some extent, even though that would be an annoying way to go about that. In the end though, if it works then the producers have every right to attempt it. It certainly wouldn’t go against what the show has been doing already, so it’s not like they risk losing any of their fans as it stands, although there are some limits to how far they can go with these moments before they run into problems.
There were some other minor but still interesting developments in the premiere episode, such as the presence of Kandi Barruss and Todd Tucker, who are apparently waiting for another baby right now. Even more interestingly, Kandi claimed that she will keep working despite her pregnancy, and according to reports, both parents are hoping that they are going to get a baby boy, although they are not yet sure what the kid’s gender is going to be.
