It’s obvious that they are going to treat this conflict very seriously and like a plot development that requires a lot of attention, not just any random move that hasn’t had too much planning going into it.
It’s pretty typical for the writers of “The Originals” to set up more major developments in the show’s plot early on, especially when it comes to a conflict between some characters, and we’re likely going to get various pieces of information as well as hints about the upcoming conflict very soon. It’s also possible that the writers had some of those hints scattered around the plot of the previous episodes already, but it’s hard to tell with this show’s style, and it’s probably not going to make too much sense until the relevant episodes have actually aired.
