Both shows originally aired back-to-back but the upcoming season of “The Originals” was pushed to a midseason premiere to give way to other The CW shows that rate better such as “The 100” and “Jane the Virgin.”
The newest season will also introduce new characters. “Sleepy Hollow” alum Neil Jackson will play a new vampire named Alistair. His character will interact with Klaus the most in the upcoming season.
Christina Moses also joins the cast as Keelin, a bisexual werewolf, along with Keanu Kahuani, playing Eddie, Joshua’s love interest who does not believe in the supernatural. Taylor Cole and Debra Mooney will also guest star as Sofya and Mary Dumas, respectively.
Danielle Campbell is set to reprise her role as Davina, possibly through flashbacks. Rumors say that Leah Pipes, who plays Cami, will also reprise her role through Klaus’ flashbacks as showrunner Julie Plec once said that Cami might appear here and there in the upcoming season.
Just recently, Matt Davis, who plays Alaric Saltzman in “The Vampire Diaries” has been confirmed to crossover to the spin-off series for an important story arc. Fans believe that it has to do with his twin daughters Jo and Lizzie.
Some characters from Mystic Falls are also reportedly to head to New Orleans, but there has yet to be a confirmation.
