The Season 3 finale of the American supernatural drama TV series “The Originals” on The CW ended in a superb cliffhanger that fans of the popular show are already looking forward to its Season 4 premiere slated this coming fall.
And as usual, speculations are also making the rounds online regarding possible storylines and what fans should expect to see when the Season 4 pilot episode premieres on the small screen.
The Season 3 finale was sort of a downer for the fans of the Mikaelson family as they were completely overwhelmed by Marcel, played by Charles Michael Davis, leaving only two members in Hayley, played by Phoebe Tonkin, and her daughter, Baby Hope.
While many fans of “The Originals” were expecting that the Mikaelsons shall be able to turn the tables on the angry Marcel with the return of their sister Rebekah, played by Claire Holt, that did not happen as Marcel was able to defeat them all.
Klaus, played by Joseph Morgan, made the ultimate sacrifice to save his family from the wrath of Marcel.
A linking spell
But not before Freya, played by Riley Voelkel, gathered blood from all her siblings to use in a linking spell and puts them all into a deep sleep after tying their lives to Klaus. All four of them were under the spell including Rebekah, Freya, Elijah, played by Daniel Gillies, and Kol, played by Nathaniel Buzolic.
The finale episode also saw Marcel watching over Klaus’ body, feeling something for what he just did to his former friend, either regret, remorse, or just sadness. Then he entombs Klaus in some unknown location, apparently set on leaving him that way until he decides to remove the blade and end Klaus’ torment.
Executive producer Michael Narducci almost confirmed that Hayley shall make the next move now that the Mikaelsons are down and she will try to communicate with them through their dreams.
Narducci said that Hayley will look to find a way either by using her own vampire power or by using a witch to try to communicate with the four Mikaelsons in the dream world.
The showrunner said that Hayley has a giant puzzle to figure out in order to cure everyone and given that everyone is dying from a wolf bite, fans should already have an idea whom Hayley might turn to for help.
A new nemesis for Marcel
However, there are latest rumors going around now saying that Yusuf Gatewood’s Vincent shall become the savior of the Mikaelsons in the upcoming Season 4. In fact, the speculations are even saying that Vincent will be the new hero for Season 4 of “The Originals” and he shall be going up against Marcel, reports the Parent Herald.
Narducci said that Vincent has a strong moral compass and he also thinks that Marcel stepped over the line in becoming the king of New Orleans that he was back in Season 1.
The showrunner said that Vincent would step up and have something to say about what Marcel thinks of himself.
But he added that it could also be best for New Orleans if Vincent tries to find peace, and if that’s the case, he will certainly be able to do just that.
However, according to Christian Times, Hayley would likely be the savior of the Mikaelsons come Season 4 because she is family and that she is likely to get support from her baby with Klaus, Hope.
Hope will still be too young to use her powers in the Season 4 premiere but if the time jump reports are true, then her contribution towards rescuing her father and the rest of the family would be very vital.
