‘The Originals’ Season 4 to See New Orleans Being Turned Upside Down, Hints Actor Joseph Morgan

Meanwhile, it has been typical on television that when the release of a TV series is pushed back accompanied by a reduction in its number of episodes, there is a good chance that it is going to be its final season.

That seems to be the case with “The Originals,” because from an average of 22 episodes during its first three seasons, the upcoming Season 4 shall only have 13 episodes.

With its parent series, “The Vampire Diaries” about to bid goodbye with its upcoming eighth and final season, there are rumors saying that “The Originals” might follow suit.

However, some critics do not think that way because “The Originals” is doing well in the ratings better than “The Vampire Diaries” is, so the push-back and the reduction in its number of episodes could be parts of a bigger network strategy.

It is possible that “The Originals” Season 4 will just be giving way to its parent series for its final year so that once it bids goodbye to the air after its Season 8 around spring next year, it could already become the signature vampire drama TV series of The CW from there or the next couple of years thereafter.

In any case, fans continue to wait with bated breaths as to how Season 4 of “The Originals” would shape out to be.
