Normally around this time of the year, fans are already preparing to get their serving of the American supernatural drama TV series “The Originals” on The CW in about a month’s time or less.
Unfortunately, because of the major programming changes that the network has implemented, the fourth season of “The Originals” shall be premiering in January next year.
But that does not lessen the excitement and enthusiasm of the fans on the upcoming fourth season of their favorite supernatural drama considering that its Season 3 finale ended on a major cliffhanger and left the main protagonists, the Mikaelson family, in major dilemmas.
The Mikaelsons were all bundled up by Marcel Gerard, played by Charles Michael Davis, during the Season 3 finale.
Klaus Mikaelson, played by Joseph Morgan, was imprisoned by Marcel by putting his life in serious danger as his surrogate son made him atone for his sins. He barely made it out alive as does the rest of his family.
Freya, played by Riley Voelkel, allowed the other Mikaelsons to escape death by taking them in some sort of an alternate dimension.
The Mikaelsons will apparently be rescued by Hayley, played by Phoebe Tonkin, and her daughter with Klaus, Hope, to be played by young actress Summer Fontana. It can be recalled that after Marcel bundled all the Mikaelsons, Hayley and Hope left New Orleans to find ways to save the clan.
Commiserates with the fans for the long wait
Actor Joseph Morgan recently came out to say that he is commiserating with the fans for the long wait that they have to endure before Season 4 of “The Originals” premiere on The CW.
He recently took to Instagram to share that New Orleans will be turned upside down in the upcoming fourth season by hinting that viewers would see things that they previously thought were not possible in “The Originals,” notes the Christian Post.
He assured fans that Klaus will be there and will rise anew with newfound powers after being left for dead.
Morgan also hinted about betrayal and the forming of unlikely alliances. Apparently, characters who had axes to grind with one another will be forced to work together while former allies will turn hostile to each other.
He added that Season 4 of “The Originals” will change the dynamics of the characters, details the Christian Times.
As to who will free Klaus from the bondage that Marcel put him into, the toss up is between Hayley-Hope on one side and Marcel on the other.
Up against a more vicious big bad
It has already been reported previously that there will be a five-year time jump from the Season 3 finale and the Season 4 premiere of “The Originals,” and the show would already see Hayley and Hope already able to rescue the Mikaelson family.
But they would not be venting their anger or nurture any hopes of revenge against Marcel as they would be up against a new and more vicious villain in Alistair Duquesne, to be played by Neil Jackson.
According to reports, Alistair has been holding a grudge against the original badass hybrid Klaus for 100 years and it looks like the Season 4 storyline shall see the villain hunting Klaus to exact his revenge.
Reports have it that Alistair may be the mysterious force that is wreaking havoc among the children of New Orleans and Klaus and Hayley and the rest of the Mikaelsons may be forced to fight him because they want to protect Hope from him.
It would also be interesting to see if Vincent Griffith, played by Yusuf Gatewood, would also turn to become another villain in Season 4 of “The Originals,” the way that Marcel suddenly turned as one during Season 3.
