‘The Originals’ Season 4 to Pick Up 5 Years After Season 3; Show Moved to a Mid-Season Premiere

The cast also gave fans a preview of the fourth season with a trailer that premiered during the ComicCon. It features the Original vampire hybrid Klaus looking back at all the sufferings he and his family went through after many centuries.

It opens with Marcel stacking stones on a pit and then it flashes back to the moment where the Mikaelsons became blood-sucking creatures. Recent occurrences are then showcased in the clip such as the times when Klaus was betrayed.

Before the teaser comes to a close, Klaus recites William Blake’s “A Poison Tree” as more life-changing events show on screen. This includes falling in love with Cami and having Hope in his life.

Marcel then takes over reading the poem while scenes from last season flash by. The clip ends with a tease of the 5-year time jump featuring a grown-up Hope asking Hayley if they are going to save his Dad to which Hayley promises that they will.

The cast also bid farewell to their parent show, ‘The Vampire Diaries,” who just announced during the same event that Season 8 will be their final season. Both shows have done plenty of crossover episodes through the years and some storylines are linked with one another.
