The fourth season of the American supernatural drama TV series “The Originals” will be airing on The CW in January instead of its usual fall schedule and the move has nothing to do with the show not doing well in the ratings.
On the contrary, “The Originals” is doing excellently well in its ratings that the network has decided to strengthen its programming strategy by airing it on a later date than usual.
The show is actually doing better than its mother series, “The Vampire Diaries” which is about to air on The CW its eighth and final season this coming fall.
Fans and viewers of “The Originals” are not at all bothered by the move of The CW to push back the airing date of their favorite show to January because they are confident that the TV series shall have excellent storylines when it comes out in light of the exciting and riveting Season 3 finale.
Up to Hayley and Hope to find help
Marcel, played by Charles Michael Davis, practically bundled almost the entire Mikaelson clan during the Season 3 finale, leaving only two of the family in Hayley, played by Phoebe Tonkin and Hope, her daughter with Klaus, played by Joseph Morgan.
It can be recalled that among the Mikaelsons, only Hope is immune from a werewolf bite because Hayley is also a werewolf.
As expected, the rescue of the Mikaelsons from the spell that Marcel placed on Klaus and then linked by Freya, played by Riley Voelkel to all of them, can only be undone by their two remaining family members, unless the showrunners decide to bring in Damon and Stefan Salvatore from its parent series “The Vampire Diaries.”
Klaus is destined to spend eternity, writhing in pain because of the Tunde Blade embedded in his chest. Freya, Elijah, played by Daniel Gillies, and Kol, played by Nathaniel Buzolic, were all supposed to die but the witch used a complicated spell that sent their souls in a different realm.
Their sister Rebekah, played by Claire Holt, will not be able to help too since she has to deal with her own curse as well.
According to latest reports, Hayley and Hope will work together and find the seven werewolf packs, which shall be very important in rescuing the Mikaelson clan from their current dilemma, notes Game & Guide.
A tough journey ahead
It was during the San Diego ComicCon 2016 last month that executive producer Michael Narducci hinted that Hayley shall have a tough journey ahead of her in Season 4 of “The Originals.”
The showrunner said that Hayley will have to draw on her werewolf side to be able to find the seven werewolf packs. He added that she will also deal with Hope missing her dad.
Narducci also confirmed that the Season 4 premiere of “The Originals” would have a five-year time jump from the Season 3 finale which would give the show plenty of storylines and back stories to look into later in the show, the same way that “The Vampire Diaries” did in Season 7.
There are also reports saying that Cami, played by Leah Pipes, shall also return in the upcoming fourth season of “The Originals.”
While Cami is already dead, critics are saying that there is nothing impossible in the world of the supernatural so her resurrection would not be surprising at all. But this remains as speculation at this time, reports the iTech Post.
There are also reports saying that the scope of possible changes during the five-year time jump in Season 4 of “The Originals” is going to be immense, considering the tumultuous challenges faced by the Mikaelsons in their personal lives. Even the prophecy of their eternal doom does not make things any easier at all.
In a recent interview, actor Joseph Morgan said that Hope shall have similar thoughts with her father.
He also confirmed that Klaus’ nightmare shall continue with the cursed dagger in his chest and his anger about Cami’s death grows with time.
