With the intense events that transpired in the Season 3 finale, fans are now curious how the upcoming season will play out now that Marcel has finally regained his throne over the french quarter. However, Narducci hints that Marcel won’t actually be the show’s main villain in the upcoming season.
Speaking to TV Guide, the executive producer has never actually viewed Marcel as the big evil that the Mikaelsons needed to defeat. He believes Marcel has always done what he believes is right and just wants his city back from the moment Klaus and his siblings came to town. Marcel will likely get things back in order in New Orleans.
Narducci adds that he hasn’t really viewed the character as the antagonist of the show. The showrunner says that the werewolf has simply taken revenge for the peace that was disturbed by the return of the Original family.
The CW has yet to announce an official release date for the fourth season of “The Originals” but if it will follow its previous seasons, then it’s likely to premiere in September or October.
The network has also confirmed that the supernatural drama will still retain its Friday timeslot along with “The Vampire Diaries” which will be moving into its eighth season.
