The rumors about the upcoming fourth season of the American supernatural drama TV series “The Originals” on The CW get more interesting as its premiere draws near.
Latest reports have it that the plotline of the upcoming fourth season of “The Originals” shall be connected to the last two episodes of the eighth and final season of its parent series, “The Vampire Diaries” also on the same network, notes the iTech Post.
That is likely the reason why the Season 4 premiere of “The Originals” has been moved from January to a March 17, 2017 airing date on The CW.
There are also reports claiming that the executive producers of “The Originals” are saying that the upcoming fourth season of the TV series is going to be an eye opener and will go down as the best season of the show yet.
With that being said, it is possible that it could turn things around for the ratings of the TV series. There were speculations suggesting that given its transfer to a midseason premiere from its usual fall premiere, and the reduction in the number of episodes, the fourth season could be the last for “The Originals.”
But those who are privy to the TV series debunk those notions by saying that with the impending series finale of “The Vampire Diaries,” “The Originals” shall take the driver seat and become the signature vampire show of The CW.
Will have plenty on its plate
Based on the latest spoilers for “The Originals” Season 4, the TV series shall reportedly feature dark magic, voodoo dolls, witchcraft, and an impending betrayal of a main character. The spoilers did not specify which character it is going to be.
In fact, one of the writers of the TV series recently shared a snapshot of the script showing a darker side of magic.
Accordingly, Klaus Mikaelson, played by Joseph Morgan, shall be in a perfect position to practice and perfect the rise of the voodoo in “The Originals” Season 4.
The upcoming season shall also see Klaus being affected by his love for his daughter Hope, to be played by Summer Fontana. In fact, the reunion scene between father and daughter will be one of the main highlights of the upcoming season, insiders say.
Incidentally, if during Season 3, Marcel Gerard, played by Charles Michael Davis, was the conqueror of the Mikaelsons, he and Klaus will be working together in the upcoming fourth season.
In fact, Joseph Morgan shared a video on his social media account recently showing fans about Klaus and Marcel working together on something.
The family’s only fighting chance
Incidentally, previous rumors about “The Originals” Season 4 have been saying that Hayley, played by Phoebe Tonkin, and Hope, shall be the only fighting chance for the rescue of the Mikaelson family.
Accordingly, “The Originals” Season 4 shall have a five-year time jump after Marcel had already defeated Klaus and the rest of the Mikaelsons, notes Game & Guide.
The Mikaelsons were all bundled up by Marcel Gerard during the Season 3 finale of “The Originals.”
Klaus Mikaelson was imprisoned by Marcel by putting his life in serious danger as his surrogate son made him atone for his sins. He barely made it out alive as does the rest of his family.
Freya, played by Riley Voelkel, allowed the other Mikaelsons to escape death by taking them in some sort of an alternate dimension.
It can be recalled that after Marcel bundled all the Mikaelsons, Hayley and Hope left New Orleans to find ways to save the clan.
Contrary to rumors, showrunner Julie Plec stated recently that Season 4 is not going to be the last for “The Originals,” because if it is, they would have announced it already the way they did to “The Vampire Diaries.”
