Season 3 of the American supernatural drama TV series “The Originals” will premiere on The CW on October 8 and based on the teasers that have been released, the Mikaelson siblings will be battling against the Trinity.
The Trinity is actually the first vampires sired by Elijah, played by Daniel Gillies, Klaus, played by Joseph Morgan, and Rebekah, played by Claire Holt.
According to the Christian Today, the new characters will not only shake things up in New Orleans, they will also put the Mikaelson siblings on edges.
Co-showrunner Julie Plec confirmed that the Trinity, to be played by Rebecca Breeds, Oliver Ackland, and Andrew Lees, will be introduced during the third season of “The Originals” through a flashback storyline.
The flashback will reveal how the Mikaelsons came to be the cultured, posh, and fascinating people that they are today or about 10 years after they became vampires.
Claire’s return
Actress Claire Holt was momentarily out during some stretches of Season 2 of “The Originals” but Plec assured fans that she will be featured right at the start of Season 3 beginning with some form of flashbacks as well as during present day along with her brothers Elijah and Klaus.
There have been reports that both Elijah and Klaus will be struggling to come to terms with their feelings for the women they love. Elijah will continue to nurture his feelings for Hayley, played by Phoebe Tonkin, although she is already married to Jackson, played by Nathan Parsons.
Plec recently hinted that there is still hope for Elijah and Hayley despite their situation and the fact that their relationship was just blocked by a ridiculous amount of obstacles, notes Realty Today.
The co-showrunner said that it is not yet the end for Elijah and Hayley because they will still get together at some point in the show. Elijah will continue to aspire for Hayley because he knows that she married a mortal who will die someday while both of them are immortal.
It seems that Hayley feels the same so she is just focusing on her marriage with Jackson and make the most of their time together knowing that eventually, she and Elijah may continue their love story someday.
Klaus’ love life
Meanwhile, Klaus will continue to nurture his love for his therapist Cami, played by Leah Pipes, after telling her what he feels during the Season 2 finale.
Cami, on the other hand, is trying to contain her feelings for Klaus because she wants to be a good psychologist. But it will be a tough task for her as her only client at this time is Klaus and it would be interesting to see if they can keep their relationship on a strictly professional basis or they will finally give their mutual feelings a go this coming third season.
Previous reports have indicated that much of the upcoming third season of “The Originals” will focus on the Mikaelson siblings as they meet and deal with their first offspring for the first time.
During the ComicCon 2015 held in San Diego, California in July, showrunners of “The Originals” confirmed that Season 3 will explore the dynamics between the Mikaelson siblings. They also revealed that the Mikaelsons will meet their offspring for the first time.
However, the meeting will not be pretty, they added, as the sired vampires will come to New Orleans seeking power and vengeance.
According to co-creator Julie Plec, while the Mikaelsons have finally put their own parents and their dysfunction to rest, their first line of children will come to town with similar resentments and similar feelings of having been neglected, abused, and just generally mistreated.
Fans would recall how the Originals vanquished those that raised them so they could just imagine what their first line of sired vampires would have to say about them as parents.
However, the third season of “The Originals” will also have plenty of things in store for the viewers as the TV series is actually more than just about the Mikaelson siblings.
