All of this sounds a bit dark and maybe slightly too dramatic for “The Originals”, but we shouldn’t forget where the show started and how it originally drew its audience. People loved those dramatic moments which the production did so well and they want to see even more in this regard, so that’s what the producers are giving them right now.
There have been some claims that the negativity will only last for some time and not through the entire season. It’s possible that the show might see some changes in its theme around the middle of the season to make up for those developments, and some fans seem convinced that this is going to happen.
We won’t know for sure until the show has advanced a little bit, but one thing is certain at the moment – the writers are going to use every opportunity they can get to dig deep into their characters and the internal parts of their personalities, and we could see everyone coming out in a different light by the time the season is over.
Would it be strange to so drastically change all characters during the course of this season? Maybe – but on the other hand, there is a lot that we don’t know about those characters yet and now could be the perfect time to explore them in more intricate detail.
