The fall finale episode of the American supernatural TV series “The Originals” on The CW was high on gruesome moments that left fans and viewers either distraught or dismayed.
For those who have been hoping for a Holiday festive mood on “The Originals,” they wished wrong as episode 9 of “The Originals” became the world’s worst Christmas celebration ever, notes the International Business Times.
However, the most cringe-worthy and tear-jerking scenes of the midseason finale were when Camille, played by Leah Pipes, and Klaus Mikaelson, played by Joseph Morgan, found themselves under the mistletoe.
A short-lived feel-good moment
It was a feel-good moment for the fans, particularly the shippers of ‘Klamille,’ but it was to be very short-lived.
Taking heed of Rebekah, played by Claire Holt, Klaus decided to reveal his vulnerable side to Cami.
He was telling her that what makes her happy makes him want to keep her so and what scares her is what he wants to tear apart because he does not wish to watch her from behind a glass. He then kissed her and they both fell asleep while his arm was wrapped around Cami.
Klaus’ statement seems to have come true when he woke up from his slumber, he found blood on his hands and it was Cami’s blood. He discovered that Cami’s throat has been slashed on her sleep.
It was a disaster alright particularly for Klaus, but fans and critics alike are saying that it is not going to be the end for Cami and ‘Klamille’ because as TV Line pointed out, it is quite impossible to see Klaus just burying Cami and moving on with his life.
He has the option to go to Vincent, played by Yusuf Gatewood, for a quick revival spell or it is also possible that Cami could have died with a vampire blood on her system so it is likely that it is not the end for her and her supposed death in the fall finale only gave fans of “The Originals” a major plot to watch out for when the TV series returns to The CW on January 29, 2016.
Calming frantic nerves
If it’s any consolation to fans, Michael Narducci, executive producer of “The Originals,” said that viewers and the audience should remain hopeful, in an obvious effort to calm frantic nerves, which seem misplaced for the Holidays.
He said that people should believe that there is hope, there is love, there is family, and there is the devotion that everyone has one another as spirits and humans. He added that it is the real story that “The Originals” is telling.
In addition to the throat of Cami getting slit, other gruesome moments in the fall finale of “The Originals” include Freya, played by Riley Voelkel, skinning her sister’s arm, and Rebekah making the selfless decision to have Elijah, played by Daniel Gillies, dagger her with the hope of fulfilling the prophecy. But it turns out, Aya’s dagger was cursed and it left Bex with an ever-expanding mark on her arm that would eventually drive her completely insane.
There’s also a bit of uplifting news on episode 9 that was provided by Hayley and Jackson. Hayley, played by Phoebe Tonkin, was quoted as saying to Jackson that her feelings for Elijah are complicated, but that does not mean that she loves him any less. She said that she is choosing Jackson and will be choosing him again every day if it is still not enough.
For his part, Jackson said that he was born to love her, finally finding a common ground with his wife.
