The midseason premiere of Season 3 of the American supernatural drama TV series “The Originals” on The CW on January 29 did not disappoint shippers of ‘Klami’ as Cami, played by Leah Pipes, turned out alive after she was killed off by Aurora, during the fall finale episode late last year.
However, it was clear from the 10th episode that Cami managed to survive because she has vampire blood in her system and that it will be a long winding transition for her.
While Cami managed to go through the wringer and came out of it alive, it was Jackson who got killed and it would be interesting how Hayley, played by Phoebe Tonkin, will play it out in the second half of Season 3 of “The Originals.” During the fall finale episode, Hayley said to Jackson that it was always them and not Hayley and Klaus.
The 11th episode of “The Originals” titled “Wild at Heart” will see Klaus trying to be a good influence and help Cami as she gradually transforms into a vampire.
Not a good influence
Showrunner Michael Narducci said that Klaus has the notion that he may not be genetically engineered to be a good influence but having been through the same process in the past, he would know when Cami starts losing herself over her newfound power, details the Christian Today.
Because Klaus is not a morally good type of guy, there will be a complication in the process and there is a possibility that he might actually bring out the worst in both of them. Although there is also a chance that it might not, hints Narducci.
In an interview, Narducci said that Season 3 of “The Originals” is about how people who come into the orbit of the Mikaelson family are just as cursed as the family. He added that nobody is safe and everybody who went into the midseason premiere episode were thinking and hoping that Cami is not dead, notes Enstarz.
He also said that while there would be positive things in store in the future, things will become terrible first, citing that Cami’s situation is going to get worse first before it gets better.
With Cami now a vampire, she will certainly be exploring and would start experiencing her new life. She will definitely be in for a long transition into discovering who she is going to be as a vampire.
Narducci also explained that human-to-vampire transition is different for everybody and Cami’s path will also be distinct in a way that she will exhibit dark impulses that can eventually give a free rein to her dark side.
The showrunner added that Cami is still going to love the people she loves but might be more inclined to take what she wants because she already can. She will finally learn to let go of fear as she feels the newfound power surge within her. And she will likewise learn to face the enemies and not play any kind of victim card because she knows she has the supremacy.
A roller coaster of emotions
The midseason premiere of Season 3 of “The Originals” was a rollercoaster of emotions. It is expected that the next episode will carry the mix emotions through.
Based on the synopsis, the next episode will also see Elijah staying close to Aya after learning of the existence of a powerful and immortality-terminating weapon that could kill an Original vampire.
It will also feature Davina thinking about an offer that could help her ultimately reunite with Kol. Viewers have noted that it has been quite tough for Davina in recent months after she was rejected by her coven of witches. She is now alone and desperate and would do anything to find the opportunity to make a major comeback.
