Van will be introduced in episode 2. When “The Originals” was renewed for a third season, Riely Voelkel, who plays Freya Mikaelson, has been upgraded to series regular. Meanwhile, Klaus might have gained a stronger enemy this season. During the San Diego ComicCon, cast member Danielle Campbell, who portrays, Davina Claire, says that fans will see a stronger Davina when the show returns.
Davina had long hated Klaus, but now her hatred has gone overboard after one chance to bring back Kol, in a witch’s body, last season all went to waste. During the Season 2 finale, Davina instead resurrected the Mikaelson matriarch, Esther, after Rebekah, played by Claire Holt, and Elijah tricked her and exchanged the ashes to be used in the resurrection spell.
The 20-year-old actress adds that now that her character is the Regent of the witches in New Orleans, she has to decide what’s best for her people although it might not come off smoothly as the coven won’t understand and respect her as the Supreme Witch.
Campbell also discusses Davina’s character with Marcel, played by Charles Micheal Davis. The former Disney star shares that the strong relationship of the two will continue to play out in the upcoming season adding that Davina and Marcel will always have a special bond that will make them always stick together despite every obstacle.
