Elio’s VP of Sales, Jerome Vasallo, talked about the advantage of the car, which in 90% cases, people end up driving themselves. A lot of people say that they wish to carpool, but a major portion of them end up driving on their own. According to Fastcoexist, Elio will be a great fit for the people who prefer driving themselves.
In other news, according to Business Insider, Elio Motors has a rather simple and interesting idea to be introduced in the automobile industry. The transport start-up, headquartered in Arizona, with a factory in Louisiana, has started taking deposits for its first three-wheeled car. It is street-legal and ready to be released in the USA.
The company’s idea is to introduce mobility for the folks who couldn’t afford a basic vehicle. Nissan Versa is the cheapest car in the United States, and even that goes for a minimum price of 10000 dollars.
At the same time, it is worth understanding that one can get a decent used car for as low as $7000, but it won’t be as exotic as Elio and certainly not have an 80mpg fuel-efficiency.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Auto Show this year won’t be any different. Elio Motors will release its high-efficiency trike, sometime in 2017 but its latest E-series vehicle will be introduced in LA, during the month of November.
