‘The Legend of Zelda’ on Wii U to Come Out in 2016 to Also Mark the Game’s 30th Anniversary on the NES!

The action-adventure video game “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U was first announced by Nintendo in January 2013. Since then everyone was anticipating the release of the game. But almost three years have passed after the announcement and there is still no sight of the game.

While the rumors early this year were quite pronounced that “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U will be released in 2015, it looks very unlikely at this point.

Nintendo recently said that it is fine-tuning the game and improving its graphics to make it the best “The Legend of Zelda” game ever, although no one can really tell if that is the real reason indeed.

Latest reports say that the reason why Nintendo delayed the release of “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U is because it was waiting for 2016 before it finally unveils the game. It turns out that 2016 will mark the 30th anniversary of “The Legend of Zelda” game on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). And nothing could be fitting than launching a “The Legend of Zelda” game on Wii U next year, details Nintendo Life.

The NES has been around a little more than 30 years in the market but next year, the gaming console will also mark its 30th anniversary from the time that it officially arrived in the US.

Still hopeful of a 2015 release

The PC Advisor of UK, however, believes that there is still a good chance that “The Legend of Zelda on Wii U will be released this year.

Accordingly, the website of Walmart recently posted a listing for “Zelda 2” on Wii U. There is no such game as “Zelda 2” so it is assumed that the retail giant was referring to “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U. The same listing actually indicated that the game will become available on October 1.

Some critics thought that October 1 was the release date of the game in the US, but the day has come and gone and there is still no “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U at all.

But the site still insists that the game could be released either this October or next month because apparently the Japanese gaming company has a history of releasing games on Sundays.

However, instead of the “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U, Nintendo has set the release date on its older game “The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD” on Wii U very soon.

‘The Legend of Zelda’ movie

It has already been confirmed recently that plans are now in the works for a Zelda movie. In fact, Shigeru Miyamoto, creator of “The Legend of Zelda” and “Mario” games has recently discussed the potential casting for the film.

Takashi Tezuka, designer and director of the numerous “The Legend of Zelda” and “Mario” games, added that they would like someone who is completely new and indicated that a Japanese actor may not be the best fit for the character.

Tezuka explained that he personally think that Link should be played by a female actress that has boyish features. He adds that Link is very different to how Japanese female looks so the female actress should not be a Japanese.

Miyamoto also said that when he attended the Japanese Expo, there were so many people in cosplay and some of them really looked very good. They would be good as Link.

“The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U will eventually be released but since Nintendo has yet to make a statement or announcement about an exact release date, the gamers’ anxious moments continue.

Nintendo has just announced that it is going to release “The Legend of Zelda: Tri-Force Heroes” on the 3DS on October 23 with a retail price of $39.99.

The game is said to be quite unique because it is the only “The Legend of Zelda” game that can be played multiplayer with other players.
