This year marks the 30th anniversary of the action-adventure video game “The Legend of Zelda” so it is just fitting that the game would finally have a Wii U version in 2016.
While Nintendo has yet to announce the exact date for the release of “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U, what is clear is that it would finally happen this year following the decision of the Japanese gaming company to push it back from its initial scheduled rollout last year.
Reports have it that “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U will be the first game in the series to be made with HD graphics apparently because of the excellent hardware features of the gaming console. It shall also encompass the biggest map ever seen in the games, moving the dungeon explorer closer towards being fully realized as a true open world game.
The likely release of “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U is now also very evident in the online retail store Amazon.
Amazon is now making available three upcoming major video games for pre-ordering, including “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U, “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End,” and “Final Fantasy XV,” each for $48 before tax as part of a certain quiet promotion, notes Gamespot.
The price is actually 20% cheaper than the original prices of those upcoming video games. And what is clear from the Amazon offer is that all these three games are already confirmed to come out this year.
A seamlessly unfolding world
“The Legend of Zelda” series producer Eiji Aonuma says that because of the hardware system of the Wii U, it became possible to develop a huge, seamlessly unfolding world for the video game.
He added that it will not be possible if the gaming platform is not advanced enough. Aonuma also said that ever since they have made the first generation of “The Legend of Zelda” games, they have as large a world can be realized with the hardware, so it is really inevitable that it will be done on the Wii U version as well.
Incidentally, a promotional video for “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U will soon be released and it is apparently designed to cater to parents. The video is titled “First Draft” so critics felt that it could still be subject to finalization by Nintendo.
They also lauded the Japanese gaming company’s strategy of targeting both parents and children, the way the other Nintendo franchises have done in the past including “Pokemon” and “Super Mario,” which have already spanned generations, notes Moviepilot
The younger generations of parents in their mid-20s to early 30s are the ones who grew up with the series and the children themselves are the primary target audience for the new games. But nostalgia permeates the series so they appeal to players both young and old.
Reports also have it that the promotional video itself is said to feature gameplay footage from classic games including “The Legend of Zelda,” “The Adventure of Link,” and “A Link to the Past” with a focus on the relationship between a father and daughter.
A cautionary tale
The Nintendo Wii U gaming platform was released in November 2012 and it has been a great wonder that one of the Japanese gaming company’s most popular video game franchises, “The Legend of Zelda” has yet to come out in the platform until today.
Nintendo’s other popular gaming franchises including “Mario Kart” and “Super Smash Bros” already have their Wii U versions but “The Legend of Zelda” has yet to have one.
Latest reports have it that “The Legend of Zelda” will finally make it to the Nintendo Wii U in the spring of 2016.
However, astute gamers and fans of “The Legend of Zelda” appear to have grown tired of the rumors about the game coming to the Wii U. Prior to the speculations that “The Legend of Zelda” will make it to the Wii U, the reports say that the game on the Wii U platform will come out in the first quarter of 2016.
Because the latest reports about “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U came from unconfirmed sources, it has become a cautionary tale with Nintendo.
just make it on the new console. Unless the new console is like the wii or wii u, if its not built like a ps4 or xbox one with regular a controller, no dumb motion controls please, other wise you will be wasting ever ones time.
