The action-adventure video game “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U has been widely anticipated by gamers for quite some time now.
There were reports that Nintendo was planning to launch the game during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2015 held in June but Nintendo decided on the last minute to pull the plug on it since the game would not be released before the end of the year anyway, cites Christian Today.
Apparently, the delay in the release of “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U are mainly due to a change in graphics and the possible arrival of the new Nintendo gaming console known as the NX.
According to game critics, with Nintendo pushing for the release of a new gaming console system, it becomes imperative for the company to upgrade the graphics of “The Legend of Zelda” so that is shall be both compatible not only on the Wii U but also on the NX.
However, since Nintendo refuses to make any statement or announcement to either confirm or deny these reports, then everything about “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U and the new gaming console NX are mere speculations at this time.
An error on Nintendo’s part
One reputable and avid Nintendo fan, known as NWPlayer123, is a very astute gamer who likes to mine various games for possible hidden secrets.
According to the avid gamer, who’s a female by the way, Nintendo has recently added a new title ID for “The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.” It is not clear if the title ID is a simple re-release of the Wii U game or its HD version.
However, it is not possible to download the game from the eShop as only the home icon was recovered. This could have been a test or an error on Nintendo’s part. If it was intentional, there are only plans to bring the original Wii U game over much like “Super Mario Galaxy 2” and other titles, cites Nintendo Everything.
Rewarding gamers for patience
Now that “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U is unlikely to be released this year, game producer Eiji Aonuma said that Nintendo would just make up for it by rewarding gamers for their long wait and patience.
In a video statement released recently, Aonuma said that they are no longer making a 2015 release of “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U their top priority. Instead, their focus now is to make the most complete and best “The Legend of Zelda” game ever.
He added that the additional time that they have gotten as a result of the delay in the release of the popular video game would enable them to reward gamers for their patience and he assured them that it would surely be worth the wait.
Aonuma also thanked the fans and gamers for their continued support. While the gist of the game creator’s statement was heartbreaking to say the least, since most of the fans and gamers were expecting to get a copy of the game when the holiday season arrives, the good thing is that they are assured that it would be a better game upon its release.
Scott Moffitt, Nintendo America executive vice president said at the E3 2015 in June that the company wants to release a game that is fully developed without any bug or glitch.
While he also brought the bad news that “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U will not be released this year but next year most likely, he nonetheless assured fans that the development team is very much hard at work on the game, working to ensure that there will be no major issue that the game would face upon its release.
