Nintendo announced the action-adventure video game ‘The Legend of Zelda’ on Wii U as early as June last year during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2014. Back then, the consensus among gamers was that the Japanese gaming company would roll out the game this year.
Unfortunately, more than one year, after the game was officially announced, “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U, has yet to be released and it is unlikely to happen within the year too.
There have been speculations that Nintendo might be releasing the game next year but those rumors were doused with cold water when the 2015 second quarter financial report of Nintendo was released early last month and indicate a TBA on the release date of “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U instead of a more specific 2016.
During the E3 2015, Nintendo announced and showed a gameplay trailer of “The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes” on 3DS quashing yet again the hopes of Wii U gamers to finally get their hands on “The Legend of Zelda” version on their gaming console.
Release date to be announced soon?
But if there is one thing that they can be sure about, “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U will eventually be released but since Nintendo has yet to make a statement or announcement about an exact release date, the gamers’ anxious moments continue.
Nintendo has just announced that it is going to release “The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes” on the 3DS on October 23 with a retail price of $39.99, cites Nintendo Enthusiast.
The game is said to be quite unique because it is the only “The Legend of Zelda” game that can be played multiplayer with other players.
Now that “The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes” on 3DS has a release date, Nintendo can focus on finding an exact date for the rollout of “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U, which could finally happen next year or at the latest, in 2017.
Portal gun on the game will be superb
Moviepilot believes that “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U will really be great if Nintendo sticks to its promise that players can approach the game as they see fit.
It has been reported that “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U is looking to innovate on what the franchise has previously brought to gamers.
The lending system adopted for “The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds” has turned off a good number of gamers and it is about time that Nintendo plans something better for “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U.
Accordingly, what would make the game really come out beautiful and excellent is Valve’s portal gun. It can actually be applied to various other video games, but none of it could be better and practically tailor-fit for “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U. However, it is unlikely that Nintendo will come up with it for the game but at least it got an idea on how to improve the game further.
Nintendo may have a valid reason in delaying the release of “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U. But when it pushed back the release of the highly-anticipated game to an undetermined date, the Japanese gaming company did not only take the anxiety of the fans to near-anger levels, it has actually put pressure on itself.
Because now, “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U gamers expects nothing but perfection and it has certainly up the level of pressure on Nintendo, however, good the company has thrived on pressure over the years.
There is also a risk involved in the further delay of the game as the excitement may have thin out already by the time “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U is released, it may eventually end up being a failure.
There are at least five ways within which “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U could be a major disappointment especially when it finally comes out possibly late in 2017. The outlet cited that the final reception of the game might just be stunted especially if the fans start feeling being bitter for the run-around that Nintendo gave them.
