‘The Legend of Zelda’ on Wii U Becomes a Boundary-Breaking Game in the Acclaimed Franchise!

The long wait of gamers for the “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U seemed worth it following the launching of the official game trailer by Japanese gaming company Nintendo in the ongoing Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 in Los Angeles, California.

Nintendo announced that the official game title is “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” and it will officially arrive on the Wii U and the company’s next-generation gaming console called the NX sometime next year.

The company has not yet made an announcement about the specific release date of “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” on the Wii U and the NX in 2017 but the good news for gamers is that the game will finally be a reality after nearly four years of wait from the time that Nintendo made its first announcement.

More importantly, based on gamer feedback after seeing the gameplay and having the walkthrough at Nintendo’s E3 2016 booth, “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” turned out to be a boundary-breaking new game in the acclaimed video game series, notes Nintendo on its website.

The game is actually a new take on “The Legend of Zelda” series and gives main character Link an unprecedented amount of freedom in its open world, reports Wired.

Superb voice acting and fantastic features

The outlet also cited the superb voice acting in “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” based on its official trailer alone.

As far as features are concerned, the new game enables gamers to step into a world of adventure, discovery, and exploration as they can travel across fields, through forests, and to mountain peaks and they discover what has become of the ruined kingdom of Hyrule.

Players can also explore the wilds of Hyrule any way they like. They can climb up towers and mountain peaks in search of new destinations, then set their own path to get there and plunge into the wilderness.

As they journey through their chosen path, they will be battling various enemies, hunt wild beasts, and gather ingredients for the food and elixirs that they would need to sustain them in their missions.

The game also features more than 100 Shrines of Trials to discover and explore where players can also search them in various ways and solve a variety of puzzles inside. There are also traps and devices inside to earn special items and other rewards that would be vital in the pursuit of the adventure.

Just like most open-word action-adventure games, it is imperative for gamers to be equipped and prepared on course to their final mission in “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” which is to rebuild the kingdom of Hyrule from ruins.

Amiibo figurines and trading cards

As part of its promotions for the new “The Legend of Zelda” game, Nintendo shall also be releasing compatible Amiibo figurines including Link as an Archer, Link as a Rider, and the game nemesis called The Guardian. Nintendo announced that the miniature toys shall be released also next year.

Meanwhile, the popularity of “The Legend of Zelda” has resulted to the spawning of a range of trading cards from at least five different games of the franchise.

Apparently, the game cards shall feature images from five different “The Legend of Zelda” games including “Twilight Princess,” “Majora’s Mask,” “A Link Between Worlds,” “Ocarina of Time,” and “Skyward Sword.”

According to the product description, the base set shall have 85 trading cards, including 23 regular cards, eight gold foil cards, 12 decal stickers, and nine tattoos.

The same description also cited that Nintendo’s “The Legend of Zelda” brand is incredibly popular and has already spawned best-selling games, books, and more.

Nintendo also added that it shall be having two major releases this year including the HD version of “The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess” that already happened in March this year, and another new one coming soon.
