The next game in the open world action-adventure video game franchise “The Legend of Zelda” is officially titled as “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” and it shall officially come out on the Nintendo Wii U and the NX, the Japanese gaming company’s latest platform, in March next year.
While gamers of the Wii U have been looking forward to a version of “The Legend of Zelda” on their gaming console for nearly three years, it was only during the Electronic Entertain Expo (E3) 2016 that Nintendo formally announced the game’s arrival on the platform.
It seems that Nintendo wanted to make sure also that when its latest gaming platform comes out next year, it shall have a bigger title that would easily have gamers hooked into it right away.
While every Nintendo gamer is looking forward to getting hold of “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” either on the Wii U or the NX, some critics note that the Japanese gaming company should be wary of possible negative scenarios that could go wrong once the game comes out next year, notes iDigital Times.
One of the possible negative feedbacks that “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” may get from gamers is its lack of dungeons.
More focus on shrines than dungeons
Based on the hype, the game shall feature some kind of large dungeon structure but based on the gameplay of “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” during the E3 2016 and then again at the Gamescom 2016 in Cologne, Germany last month, the focus has been on the 100 smaller shrines that have been advertised to dot the finished Hyrule map.
Shrines actually represent the new territory for the series. With the presence of more shrines, the true dungeons as gamers know it will be a much rarer occurrence in the game.
Thus, critics are saying that there is an open possibility that the moment-to-moment gameplay of “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” might not feel quite as epic throughout the entire journey.
They claim that it is also possible that much of the focus of the game will be on locating runes in the smaller buildings and will surely not sit well with “The Legend of Zelda” fans and gamers.
In addition to main gameplay feature, critics are also saying that the Wii U might not be powerful enough to adequately support some parts of the game while the NX may be so new that a truly perfect port can be a difficult accomplishment.
Not in favor of gimmickry
“The Legend of Zelda” fans and gamers are one of those in the gaming community who do not favor gimmickry. That is the reason why when Nintendo launched “The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword,” its hype was less than appreciated.
So it is best for Nintendo to take note or at least control its flight of fancy when it comes to promoting the next game in the franchise, especially in light of the fact that the company also has to promote the NX.
“The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword” was released on the Wii U in 2011. It was the 16th entry in the franchise and takes place before the events of the original “The Legend of Zelda” game, details Mobipicker.
The game details the origins of the Master Sword, which is also the game’s flagship weapon. Reports have it that a remastered version is to be re-released by Nintendo to add to the promotion of “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.”
Just like the original game, playing “The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword” shall require the use of the Wii Remote, the Nunchuck, and the Wii Motion Plus.
The second half of 2016 appears to mark the year that Japanese gaming company Nintendo reinforces its presence in the international gaming business.
Fresh from the successful launch of its mobile augmented reality game “Pokemon Go,” Nintendo is now drawing accolades after it showcased once again “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” in the just-concluded Gamescom 2016.
The game shall be released on the Wii U and the upcoming Nintendo gaming platform, the NX, which is due to come out next year.
