The Last of Us Remastered Coming to PlayStation 4 Pro with 4K Resolution, Stunning Visuals!

What other recent classics could be remastered? That’s a tricky question, as gamers tend to be sensitive to these things. Even “Call of Duty” faced some mixed responses when the game’s remaster was announced, so publishers feeling inspired from these recent announcements should be careful.

As much as gamers love to re-experience their favorite classics with a new skin, a remaster can also ruin a fan’s impressions of the original, and it should always be developed with extreme caution.

For example, one of the biggest mistakes developers tend to make when working on remasters is to focus too heavily on introducing new features and “fixing” the issues of the original. In most cases, this is not what players want to see and it actually takes away from the experience.

In the case of “The Last of Us”, fans have every reason to be excited for the game, and we’re curious to see how the remastered edition will hold up against the original. It’s always possible that fans will prefer the old game in the end, but at least those who’ve been reluctant to try it due to its graphics will now have a very compelling reason. The only thing that Naughty Dog could possibly do to make things even better right now is to start targeting other platforms, but we don’t really expect this to happen for various reasons, mostly related to company politics.
