The Last of Us 2 Developer is Now Busy Working on the Game Based on Recent Teases by People Involve in its Development!

It has been previously reported that game developer Naughty Dog shall be working on the development of the action-survival horror video game “The Last of Us 2” after it released its open world action-adventure third-person shooter video game “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” in May.

But then Naughty Dog did not confirm nor deny and just said that it will still be working on the development of the three scheduled DLCs that will come to “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” up to one year from the time of the game’s official release date.

Last year, voice actor Nolan North, who lent his voice to Nathan Drake, the main protagonist of the “Uncharted” video game series, revealed that the game developer has already been brainstorming on “The Last of Us 2.”

Subsequently, there were two other teases from people possibly involved in the development of “The Last of Us 2” to indicate that Naughty Dog is already in the thick of development for the game.

In a live stream session for “Uncharted 4” a few months ago, Naughty Dog’s Josh Scherr inadvertently mentioned “The Last of Us” sequel from out of the blue.

He was quoted as saying during the live stream session that all the facial animation in the “Uncharted” series was led by Eric who is also part of the first “The Last of Us.” Subsequently, Scherr corrected himself by saying that he just mentioned the first “The Last of Us,” as if to allude that what he meant was the second game in “The Last of Us” series which ultimately means “The Last of Us 2,” details Game & Guide.

In another incident, a leaked Linked In profile picture of developer Michael Knowland showed a “The Last of Us” picture. He said that he spent the whole month prototyping the head sculpts of the sequel, which was again a clear reference to “The Last of Us 2.”

Throwing various ideas for the game

Then there is also the revelation made by Naughty Dog creative director Neil Druckmann early this year when he said that he and partner Bruce Straley already have prototypes of various ideas for “The Last of Us 2.”

Druckmann said that there were already a bunch of ideas for “The Last of Us 2” including the possibility of bringing back Joel and Ellie, who were the main characters for “The Last of Us,” notes the Christian Times.

The creative director also said that there are also ideas that have been thrown in the mix including starting the game with an entirely clean slate, which means new protagonist or protagonists instead of just being Joel and Ellie again.

Druckmann also said then that as they were getting close to setting or narrowing the short list of ideas that they have come up for the game, Naughty Dog asked him and his team to focus instead on “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.”

Now that “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” is officially out and its first DLC came out already in September, Druckmann said that they are now back working on “The Last of Us 2” but can only concentrate in full once the two other DLCs for “Uncharted 4” are released soon.

Updating the original game

Naughty Dog recently said that it has not yet proceeded with the development of “The Last of Us 2” even after it released “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” in May this year.

Apparently, the developer got itself busy instead with the development of the remastered version of “The Last of Us” which it plans to release to the PlayStation 4 Pro.

Reports have it that “The Last of Us” has been updated to better suit the features of the new Sony gaming console as the remastered version of the game will run in 4K resolution at 30 frames per second. Gamers can opt to play the game at 60 frames per second but it would limit the display resolution to 1080 pixels.
