‘The Incredibles 2’ to See the Teaming Up of Michael Giacchino and Brad Bird Again!

Things are coming well for the sequel to Disney’s animated film “The Incredibles.” After a release date of June 21, 2019 has been confirmed, director Brad Bird revealed that composer Michael Giacchino will be returning as well for “The Incredibles 2.”

Bird took to Twitter to announce that he will be teaming up once again with Giacchino. Michael scored the first “The Incredibles” movie back in 2004. The director shared a video of the composer signing his contract for the animated sequel.

Bird and Giacchino have also worked together in films such as “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol,” “Tomorrowland,” and “Ratatouille.” The composer actually received an Oscar for the latter movie.

The composer’s services are in great demand these days, especially in blockbuster movies. Giacchino is responsible for the original scoring of Disney’s “Inside Out,” “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes,” and “Star Trek.”

Speaking to ComingSoon.net, Bird says that he’s now really looking forward to doing the film because he’s working with someone who he knows very well and knows the film by heart.

“The Incredibles 2” is less than four years away and Brad confirmed in September that he’s almost done with the plot, although the director has been keeping mum on the specifics.

However, he gave away some hints saying that some elements of the script are connected to the ideas that didn’t make it into the original film, Superherohype reports.

Movie News Guide reports that the director is moving as fast as he could that he enjoyed working with a relatively small team. Reports say that with Giacchino on board the sequel, Bird is probably done with the script.

Speculations about the film’s plot have been circulating on the internet since the confirmation of a sequel came out last year, making more fans excited to see the much-awaited sequel.

Crossmap reports that the Parr family will still be the main characters of the film, but there’s still no confirmation if the voice actors for the characters will return for the sequel.

The first film ended after Dash’s competition and the city was plagued by a villain. The Parr family then went on to put their costumes indicating they have welcomed being the city’s superheroes.

The sequel comes 15 years after the original film, but reports say that the film will be set five years after the first movie.

If this is true, then Disney could get other voice actors for Violet and Dash as they have matured into teenagers already.

Violet, voiced by Sarah Vowell, was a high school junior during the first film while Dash, voiced by Spencer Fox, was the average 10-year-old boy.

The studio could opt to retain the voice actors for Bob and Helen. Mr. Incredible was voiced by Craig T. Nelson and Holly Hunter voiced Elastigirl.

Another thing fans are looking out for is Jack-Jack, the youngest of the Parr family. In the first film, Jack-Jack was still a baby with no powers that was until the end of the film when he was captured by Syndrome and he exhibited shape-shifting abilities.

Reports say that Jack-Jack will probably be around age five or six years old in the sequel and that he too is going to embrace his superhero identity.

A certain report from Vulture says that the youngest Parr family member might turn out to be the villain in the upcoming film. The report says that since Jack-Jack is probably the most powerful among the Incredibles, he is going to be the sequel’s bad guy.

Fans of the original film are also looking forward to seeing Edna Mode return. Mode was Bob and Helen’s costume designer back when they were still Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl and she was also responsible for the famous red uniform the Parr family is known for donning.
