‘The Incredibles 2’ to Feature Jack-Jack Squaring Off with His Older Brother Dash, Some Rumors Say!

The superhero versus superhero plotline has become a fad among superhero movies these days that it would not hurt the sequel to the 2004 animated hit “The Incredibles” if it will also take on the same storyline, according to some rumors.

Previous speculations have been very consistent that it would be Jack-Jack, the youngest member of the superhero Parr family who shall become the main villain in “The Incredibles 2.”

Reports have it that Jack-Jack would be a rebellious teen who will turn against his family and shall even go head-to-head and square off with his older brother Dash, reports the Ecumenical News.

Veteran Hollywood actor Samuel L. Jackson, who rendered the voice of Frozone in “The Incredibles,” has also been confirmed to return in the sequel and reprise his character.

In an interview, Jackson said that he is looking forward to how and what Jack-Jack turned into, giving an indirect hint that he may be privy to the plotline of “The Incredibles 2” which shall likely revolve around the youngest member of the Parr family.

The supposed battle between Dash and Jack-Jack would be a good subplot and shall also serve as one of the main highlights of the upcoming movie set to hit theaters on June 21, 2019.

Not so much on the latest technology

Director Brad Bird has confirmed that work on “The Incredibles 2” has already started but he still refuses to offer further details.

But he promised fans that he will make the movie a good one so that it would not be reduced to a mere footnote or commentary on the current state of the superhero genre, notes Crossmap.

Bird said that the production team shall not be adopting the greatest special effects on “The Incredibles 2” because he believes that the characters of the movie are its greatest assets.

The director confirmed that he loves the characters of the film so much and he will continue to invest in them as far as the storyline of “The Incredibles 2” is concerned and less on special effects.

A matter of continuity

With a June 21, 2019 playdate, the sequel will come out some 15 years after the original film. To many directors, it would really be a challenge but for Director Brad Bird, who happened to helm the first movie, it would just be a matter of continuing the story he himself started more than 12 years ago.

Even Disney film producer Lindsey Collins is quite confident of Bird doing good in the follow-up movie despite the franchise going on an extended hibernation.

She said that the franchise is in good hands with Bird as the director because he is aware of the huge expectations from the public.

The producer said that despite the pressure to live up to the first movie’s hype, she is almost positive that Brad Bird shall continue and build on the success momentum of “The Incredibles” and use it to fuel his ongoing work for “The Incredibles 2.”

Meanwhile, “Finding Dory” Director Andrew Stanton also explained that the ending of the first movie offered a lot of possibilities for a continuation and he is confident that Bird is working on that.

Collins and Stanton made the statements during a recent interview for another offering from Disney Pixar – “Finding Dory” – which hit theaters starting last week. It is the sequel to the 2003 animated hit “Finding Nemo” which means that it came out 13 years after the original film.

Stanton is also a member of the Pixar’s legendary Brain Trust, which means that he knows and helps with stories on every movie that comes through there.

He said that based on the first movie, there was a big promise made at the back end. So there’s a lot of potentials to work on from there for a family of superheroes.
