“The Incredibles” was one of Disney’s more successful animations that never got a sequel, even though many fans were sure that it would be on the top of Disney’s priorities after its great reception. And while it’s true that the studio was considering a sequel to the film shortly after releasing the original one, according to rumors, they had to put those ideas on hold as they were focusing on other projects.
And now, as “The Incredibles 2” is approaching, many questions remain to be answered about the upcoming production. We still have no idea when the new film is going to hit the screen, but the Internet has seen various little spoilers about the plot over the last few months.
According to the most recent rumors, Disney are still working hard on the film and it’s still going through its development stages. It’s not known when it’s going to be ready for showing to the public, which has led most to believe that the film is still in a relatively unfinished state and Disney have a lot of work left on it. That theory has been supported by certain rumors allegedly coming from within the studio, although Disney themselves haven’t said anything officially, as can be expected.
We don’t know who’ll be playing in the new film either, but so far reports have come out that the plot will take place five years after the original, and will show Bob and Helen Parr being summoned to fight crime from time to time, while they are also having trouble trying to raise their 6-year old Son Jack-Jack.
Jack-Jack himself is having trouble adjusting to life at school, where he is mocked by his peers and shunned by most of them, who want nothing to do with him. The main reason for that is apparently his complete inability to control his superpowers, which has been causing lots of serious problems between him and other kids at school.
At the same time, his parents are very concerned about the possibility of another kidnapping. Jack-Jack eventually learns the key to controlling his powers, although he doesn’t seem to like it – apparently, when he’s feeling angry and acting like an actual villain, this allows him to be in full control of his superpowers. And while he’s having some success emulating typical villain behavior for this purpose, this eventually draws the attention of a real villain who has been lurking in the shadows. He decides that Jack-Jack would make the perfect student for his “craft”, and takes him under his wing as an apprentice. According to the plot summary, the first task that Jack-Jack will be given will be to kill his family.
