Until then though, fans should arm themselves with a lot of patience and skepticism, as we expect the rumors to only keep piling up as the release date approaches. The situation will likely get particularly bad once some minor plot details are revealed to the public, giving creative fans something to work with in their speculations.
We have no idea when the film is planned to release, and judging by the current state of affairs, it could take a while. If the plot really isn’t even finalized yet, then we obviously can’t expect actual filming to have commenced either.
Brad Bird has been trying to communicate with his fans relatively actively, but at the same time we understand that the director can’t really reveal much about his work without spoiling the premise of the film. We wouldn’t be surprised if the situation is as frustrating for him as it is for fans of the first film.
The director should definitely know how to control his communication with his audience though, as he is already experienced in what he’s doing. Whenever we hear something about “The Incredibles 2”, it will give fans a lot of fuel for their discussions and speculation over the next film, so we are curious to see what Bird will decide to reveal first.
