We also expect to see some interesting technological advancements in the new film, especially considering how much time has passed since the original came out. Rendering technology has advanced a lot since then, and the studio can probably do a lot more with their hardware now than they could before, so this could lead to some peculiar differences.
Hopefully the artists working on the new project will be able to pull this off without compromising the integrity of the original art style though, as one of the reasons “The Incredibles” became so successful in the first place was the fine attention to its visual design, and the obvious craftsmanship that went into creating it.
The film isn’t being made by any random studio though, and Disney know how to handle animation better than anyone in the industry, so if they devote to it fully, then we expect to see something amazing once they’re done.
There are reports that Pixar have already reserved November 22, 2017 and June 15, 2018 as special dates for the releases of new films, and while we don’t know what those films are exactly, it’s probably safe to assume that one of them is the new “The Incredibles”. If it’s the 2017 one, even better for the fans – but one extra year probably won’t hurt too much in the end.
