If you have not seen the third movie yet, you can either wait for it to show up on the special event, or get ready to pre-order the Blu-ray when it comes to stores all over the world on the seventeenth of November. If you are lucky enough to see the extended versions in theater, you will also see an intro from Peter Jackson before each.
Each of the films was getting mixed reviews after it was shown in theaters. It was hard to compare it to the Lord of the Rings trilogy, which is what was most likely happening when the new movies came to theaters.
Bringing all three of the movies back to the theater might have been a product of the popularity of “binge watching” and now fans of the movies will be able to do just that with the three movies. Binge watching has been made popular by streaming video giants like Netflix and Hulu.
