Some are saying that it is possible that Season 1B might air in the spring of next year, while the second season would air exactly as Season 1 premiered, which is during summer.
But Netflix Life reported recently that “The Get Down” Season 1B could air in the summer of next year, which meant that Season 2 could happen in 2018 still.
However, all these are mere speculations pending the confirmation from Netflix or the executive producers of “The Get Down.”
But fans of the Netflix series could be sure that “The Get Down” Season 1B and Season 2 will most likely have the same massive care and budget as Season 1A, making the TV series as the most expensive Netflix original series to date.
The first six episodes of the 12-part “The Get Down” premiered on August 12. According to Symphony Advanced Media, “The Get Down” in the first 31 days of release garnered 3.2 million total viewers among American adults in 18-49 years old demographics, with an average audience rating in the demo of 2.33.
But the buzz for “The Get Down” quickly died down, falling 40% in the second week and 21% and 30%, respectively, over the next two weeks, to 7.46 million demand expressions for the week of September 4 to 10, according to Parrot Analytics.
