The Following Season 4 Searches Lead To Few Results, And Details!

When you look back at the first three seasons of The Following, you are most likely trying to figure out why FOX cancelled the show. That is not stopping fans from frantically searching Google to see if there is even a shred of evidence that the show might be coming back for a fourth season. As of right now, the show is not going to have a fourth season and that is the way it should be.

More seven million viewers took the time each week to get into the mind of the FBI agent that is played by Kevin Bacon. At the end of season three, the show was losing viewers, but still managed to bring in more than five million for the finale. There is so much information that was tossed at viewers during that last season that some were not sure whether things were going forward or backwards. There is little doubt that the show ended when Joe Carroll was killed off the show.

Watching the first two seasons, which were based on finding and killing the criminal mastermind, you really started to feel bad for the FBI and the fact that they could not catch up to him. When a show invests so much time into one or two characters, there is little you can do to recoup the interest after one or both of them are killed off. The online resources that are posting about the fact that The Following Season 4 was not coming eluded to the fact that the show died when Joe Carroll did.

That makes sense to most viewers, but for those that have watched television shows come back from the dead, there is still hope. Going to search for The Following Season 4 in Google is not going to get you many relevant results. In fact, you are likely to only find a few results from fan sites hoping to write the fourth season for FOX thinking that will bring the show back. That odds are slim and even though the show brought in many viewers for FOX, it was doomed before it was finally cancelled.

The Following Season 4

Logical viewers were a little confused by the fact that the FBI could not catch a mass murderer within a few weeks, rather than over the course of two or three years. The FBI should not be made to look like a bunch of keystone cops, if that makes any sense. When Joe was able to slip through all of the traps, get away with even more crime and seemingly go undetected throughout the second season, fans were starting to wonder how it was possible. Bring in the predictable plot twists and you will have yourself a cancelled show.
