‘The Flash’ Season 3 Midseason Premiere to See Wally West Stepping Up as Kid Flash for Central City as Barry Allen Hesitates to Fight Plunder!

A few more days to go until “The Flash” Season 3 returns on The CW with its 10th episode, entitled “Borrowing Problems from the Future.”

While the title seems to hint another time-altering plot, viewers can already conclude that another life-changing event for the main characters of the show is about to happen.

It may be difficult for Barry Allen, played by Grant Gustin, to accept the fact that he could not erase in his memory the hint of the future he saw when he unconsciously time jumped into it.

In the midseason finale, Barry Allen was forced to witness the grim fate of the love of his life, Iris West, played by Candice Patton.

He saw his future self begging Savitar to release Iris West but the hero was not even fast enough to save the one closest to his heart.

It can be recalled that Barry Allen saw Iris West killed by Savitar, which made him not only conclude about Savitar’s escape from the speed force which served as his prison; but also how he would be able to save Iris West from her death in the hands of his enemy.

While it is a huge leap for the show to reveal an inevitable misfortune of one of its main characters, it is possible that fans could see another petrifying moment for Barry Allen.

Interestingly, what will be more engaging in the series is how it will affect each life of Barry’s friends and family again which could potentially prompt another self-loathing or maybe this time, heroic deeds from the fastest superhero alive.

As seen in the new promo, fans would be able to witness how Barry Allen go hand in hand with Team Flash to travel through time not to change the past but to change the future.

The CW has also released the synopsis for the upcoming episode of “The Flash” and the events seem to hit rock bottom between Barry Allen’s will and his impulsive choices.

It hints at what fans could expect from the upcoming episode 10 where Barry Allen will likely be tormented by his choices considering he knows already that Iris West will be killed by Savitar in the future.

In order to save his ace reporter girlfriend, he will be completely focusing on altering the future despite the possible risk it may cause to Team Flash.

One of the characters shown in the promo is Caitlyn Snow, played by Danielle Panabaker, where she is slowly turning into her evil alter-ego, Killer Frost.

It could possibly mean that Caitlyn Snow is slowly accepting the fact that she is destined to be her evil doppelganger considering Savitar’s predictions in the team.

Savitar’s predictions on the members of Team Flash are bound to happen since Barry Allen seems to be still groping for form with the aftermath of his time-traveling antics.

Uneasy bond between Barry Allen and Wally West

According to the episode 10 synopsis, Barry Allen will be wavering from his decisions to stop Plunder, the new villain who will wreak havoc in Central City.

Barry recalls the villain’s presence and even assumed that fighting him could trigger his fears that if he catches Plunder, it would stop his chance to save Iris’ life in the future.

But Wally West as Kid Flash steps in to save the day to cover for The Flash. Kid Flash decides to battle against Jared Morillo a.k.a. Plunder where he is successful enough to put the villain in Iron Heights.

As shown in the sneak peek of episode 10, Team Flash backstops Wally from saving Central City from Plunder as well as saving Barry from his inescapable trouble while on a scuffle.

Barry Allen, however, is not thrilled with what Wally West has done for him. He even told Wally that he was supposed to be shadowing him and not risk his life, which seems to indicate his jealousy against the Kid Flash.

In the earlier episodes, the Earth-19 version of Harrison Wells is secretly training Wally to be faster than Barry which is obviously manifesting in his running skills that he is really fast enough to beat The Flash.

While it is good to see two speedsters team up, it would be interesting to see how Barry adjusts to the reality that Wally is his new ally in saving Central City.
