It seems like Team Flash’s fate is still in grave danger as the midseason finale of The CW superhero hit series “The Flash” ends with an unexpected run of events as Savitar, who called himself as an immortal with infinite speed, revealed his three prophesies that will manifest in the future.
Despite the celebration of the Christmas holiday, Barry Allen and his friends and family were faced with some bad news courtesy of Savitar.
According to Savitar, one member of Team Flash will betray the team, one will fall, and one will suffer worse than death. These were mentioned by Savitar as he possessed Julian Albert, Barry Allen’s fellow scientist in the Criminal and Forensic department, who also happens to be Dr. Alchemy’s alter-ego.
The wrath of Savitar began after Barry messed up with the timeline again when he traveled back in time to save his mom from the Reverse-Flash. Savitar’s speed was extremely affected after Barry created a different timeline called as the Flashpoint.
Everyone’s lives were affected and became so different when Barry came back in the alternate present time.
There are already reports saying that the three prophecies will manifest in the West family. Wally will be the one who shall betray Barry because of his stubbornness, Joe who will fall down because of his children’s unfortunate fate, and Iris may die in the future which was teased already in the final scene of the episode.
However, there are also other reports saying that it could be anybody from the original Team Flash consisting of Caitlin, Cisco, and HR from Earth 19 who came to replace the original Harrison Wells. But fans could still expect a lot of Easter eggs to be hatched as the superhero series airs the second half of its Season 3.
It is possible that the betrayal could also happen in Team Flash since Caitlin can transform into her alter-ego as Killer Frost. It can also be Cisco who can vibe things or HR who Savitar has described as ‘the fake Harrison Wells.’
The latest episode also revealed who was behind the mask of Dr. Alchemy during his battle with Barry at the rooftop while Jay Garrick distracts Savitar’s attention which almost got him killed.
Julian Albert, played by the former “Harry Potter” star, Tom Felton, was undeniably shocked to know that his alter ego was Dr. Alchemy, who recently created chaos in Central City by returning the powers to metahumans.
Barry came up with the conclusion that Julian was not aware of what was happening to him lately. Though Julian still despises Barry after revealing himself as The Flash, he finally admitted that he noticed himself passing out, unaware of what his alter-ego does when he is unconscious.
It happened months ago after he saw her dead sister and told him to get the Philosopher’s stone so she could come back to life and be with him again.
Little did Julian know that it was Savitar who used his memories with his sister to flee from the Philosopher’s stone box and get his revenge against Barry.
Julian searched for it for years until he and his team finally found it in India. When he opened the box, a luminous light struck him until he passed out and could not even remember what happened after.
Savitar had turned him as his predecessor to use the stone to unravel the mess Barry has done in the timeline.
Iris’ future death
The episode also showed a saddening glimpse of Iris West’s inevitable death from Savitar’s hands in the future. Even in the future, it seems that Barry is not fast enough to save the love of his life.
Barry finds himself worrying about the consequences he might possibly encounter in the future and the potential threat to Iris’ life in the present time after he witnessed Savitar’s merciless metal hand sword struck right through Iris’ heart which led to her death, five months into the future.
The event happened after Barry threw the Philosopher’s stone box, where Savitar was imprisoned in the speed force. Engulfed by its strong light and power, Barry uncontrollably time-jumped into the future, leaving him puzzled.
There he found his future self in a dark street begging Savitar not to kill Iris. However, Savitar, in his great vengeance, did not listen and draw his metal hand sword to kill Iris after saying her last bid of goodbye and ‘I love you’ to the future Barry.
The present Barry Allen witnessed the hint of his future until Jay Garrick dragged him back to the present time. Barry realized that Savitar will escape the speed force in the future to take Iris’ life which will put Barry in a precarious situation.
Jay told Barry that it was just a possible event that might happen but he should not be frightened about it and just focus himself at the present time instead.
