“The Flash” managed to gather quite the large following during its first season, and many people are now eagerly anticipating its return for another round of episodes. We already know various details about season 2 of the show, and it’s shaping up to be pretty exciting, but on the other hand, various details remain under a major question mark and fans have been taking the opportunity to discuss them on messaging boards very actively.
There are also plenty of rumors, as can be expected, which makes it even more difficult to stay in touch with the current information about the show. But the details that have been confirmed already sound interesting enough by themselves, so fans don’t even need to keep an eye on those rumors too much.
We’ll see Barry Allen exploring the Multiverse – a vast “area” of an infinite number of universes and possibilities, with each universe differing only slightly from those around it. This would allow someone to explore many different possible outcomes to a specific situation, which could be mixed very interestingly with the character of the Flash.
We don’t know exactly how he’s going to utilize the potential of the Multiverse yet, but we expect the episodes that revolve around this concept to be quite interesting, and we wouldn’t be surprised if they manage to generate the most discussion among fans. It’s been hinted that we might get to see Harrison Wells “returning” to the show with the help of the Multiverse, but this hasn’t been confirmed officially yet.
The story gets even more complex with other characters capable of Barry’s super speed, such as Jay Garrick, who will be The Flash’s equivalent on Earth 2. Wally West, who’s the character’s sidekick – and eventually succeeds him – will be introduced as well, and we’re also going to see Zoom as the primary antagonist of season two. The character is known to be quite dangerous and capable of dealing a lot of damage when given the opportunity, and we’re likely going to see a lot of conflict in the new season.
It’s not just going to be about action though – there have also been lots of hints about new developments on the romantic front for our character. However, it might not be in the way most fans have been anticipating, as many people wanted to see the romance between Barry and Iris West advancing further, but it looks like the producers are planning to focus on another character for the time being.
That’s Patty Spivot, who recently joined Central City’s Police Department, and she’ll be joining the plot as Barry’s primary romantic interest. She has been described as The Flash’s version of Felicity Smoak, someone with a lot of tech affinity and strong interest in science. She will probably be used to interrupt the romance between Barry and Iris West quite often, as some have suggested, and this could make the story very interesting with regards to the character’s romance.
Are we also going to see an upgrade in his costume? It’s very likely that we’re going to see it move closer to the original design that all fans have come to recognize from the comic books, and it’s also been revealed you that Barry is going to develop a new power based on lightning early on in the new season. And then we have Cisco Ramon, the best friend of Barry at STAR Labs, who’ll be transitioning into Vibe, a member of the Justice League from the DC Comics.
