‘The Flash’ Season 2 Episode 11 to See the Return of the Reverse-Flash to Complicate Matters for Barry Allen!

Season 2 of the American superhero drama TV series “The Flash” just had its midseason premiere on The CW on January 19 with Barry Allen a.k.a. The Flash ironically going up against The Turtle as the latter attempted to slow down the super speedster.

With the episode titled “Potential Energy,” the midseason premiere of “The Flash” was considered by critics as a solid return to the small screen but far from a blistering start for the show’s second half, notes What Culture.

The Turtle was a pretty good villain and his powers were rather cool because it was essentially a reversal of Barry’s powers. But eventually, The Flash overcame the slow villain and put him where he rightfully belongs.

The title of the next episode of “The Flash” is already a giveaway as to who the super speedster will be going up against.

Episode 11 is officially titled as “The Reverse-Flash Returns” which means that actor Matthew Letscher, who previously played the Reverse-Flash, the alter ego of Eobard Thawne, will reprise his villain role in Season 1.

Fans of the TV series would really be wondering how the show will bring back the Reverse-Flash when Eddie Thawne, played by Rick Costnett, already killed him during the Season 1 finale.

Speculations are rife that the returning Reverse-Flash could be an Earth 2 version of the villain, but there are also those who are saying that there might be more to the character’s return, notes the Christian Post.

Mastering the art of traversing through time

There are also reports saying that the Reverse-Flash who will appear in next week’s episode of “The Flash” may possibly be a speedster that has now mastered the art of traversing through time.

Thus, it is possible that the returning Reverse-Flash may be the same person that Eddie Thawne killed but somehow managed to come back by weaving back through time.

However, most of these speculations are fan theories especially coming from those who are familiar with The Flash comic books so it would be interesting to get the right answer when episode 11 airs on January 26 on The CW.

A sneak peek trailer of episode 11 showed the Reverse-Flash telling Barry that he is the one villain that The Flash cannot stop. The other major fan question with regards to the return of the Reverse-Flash is whether the villain will be appearing in just one episode or several more just like in Season 1 considering that Season 2’s main villain is Zoom.

Critics believe that there is a good chance that the Reverse-Flash will be coming back for just one or two episodes before The Flash finally puts him away for good.

Taking center stage

Meanwhile, a fan-favorite character of “The Flash,” Iris West, will finally move on from the death of her fiancé Eddie Thawne in the second half of Season 2 of the popular TV series.

Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg says that the back half of Season 2 of “The Flash” will see the journalistic and romantic aspects of the life of Iris West, played by Candice Patton, taking center stage.

Apparently, she will build on the knowledge that her mother Francine is alive and that she has a brother.

As to whom Iris will have her romantic tryst, critics believe that it could be Scott Evans, played by Tone Bell. However, Iris and Scott will first have to overcome a difference of opinion about the city’s most famous resident. Viewers know that Iris West is very supportive of The Flash while Scott does not approve of his ways.

Kreisberg said that the relationship would be very interesting because Scott can’t stand The Flash because he thinks the speedster is a phony and he also does not believe in heroes anymore while Iris has become The Flash’s biggest booster.
