As for Barry and Candice Patton’s Iris West, it looks like there are also big changes ahead for the pair. Helbing reveals that in the Flashpoint universe, Barry and Iris never really grew up with each other.
The showrunner says that it’s another area of the characters they wanted to explore which will also pacify ‘WestAllen’ fans.
Helbing also reassures fans that Iris and Barry will most likely end up together. He says that they set it up at the end of Season 2 until Barry undid it. However, the couple is an iconic relationship and that the two are destined to be together.
As for the future of Wally West in the show, Aaron says that when they introduced the character last season, speed is in his DNA.
Wally will always want to be as fast as he can so in the Flashpoint universe, he’s actually the real Flash also known as Kid Flash. He’s a speedster who just wants to do the right thing, but he does it his way.
As for Carlos Valdes’ Cisco and Danielle Panabaker’s Caitlin, Aaron says that Cisco in the Flashpoint universe is a bit different. However, the showrunner says that what he loves about the pair is that their dynamic is strong and that’s something that’s likely to remain in Season 3.
