Former James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan also said that producer Avi Lerner was interested in having him appear in “The Expendables” film series. But Brosnan states Lerner was not exactly specific if it was the fourth movie or something else, adding jokingly that Lerner could have meant he wanted him to star in “The Expendables 7.”
The latest news is that professional wrestler Hulk Hogan himself announced on his Twitter account that he will be playing the villain in the next film. Stallone, who has written and directed past “The Expendables” films, revealed his first choice to play the film’s antagonist was Jack Nicholson. Two months ago, the 68-year old actor also took to Twitter saying that he wants Indian superstar Salman Khan to be involved in the upcoming movie.
Early this year, Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao was rumored to have been tapped to make a cameo for the film just as UFC Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey co-starred in “The Expendables 3.” Stallone himself was quick to debunk those rumors, clarifying that the Pacman would not be making any appearance for “The Expendables 4.”
Back in October 2012, Millenium Films have also announced that they have plans for an all-female version of the film set to be titled “Expendabelles.” Although details of this have been sparse, reports say the studio has tapped actresses Meryl Streep, Cameron Diaz, and Milla Jovovich to star.
