‘The Expendables 4’ Producer Sylvester Stallone Pretty Much Confirms the Tag Team of ‘The Rock’ and Hulk Hogan as Main Villains!

The fourth installment to “The Expendables” movie franchise will deviate from the traditional release date pattern of one film every two years. The first movie was released in 2010, followed by “The Expendables 2” in 2012. The third movie was released last year.

If the fourth movie is to be consistent with the release date pattern of the franchise, it should come out next year.

Unfortunately, there will be no “The Expendables 4” hitting theaters next year. Instead, the movie will be shown in 2017.

There have been speculations about who the new cast members of the next action movie ensemble would be because it has been the tradition of the franchise to add popular action stars for every film regardless of whether they are to be the good guys or bad guys.

The first to have been confirmed to be considered by Sylvester Stallone himself, the producer, director, and lead actor of the franchise, is the wrestling legend, Hulk Hogan.

An ensemble lineup of big bad

While no specific details on “The Expendables 4” movie has been made available as of yet, Hulk Hogan confirmed in an interview a few months ago that he has been in casual talks with Stallone where they discussed the possibility of him appearing as the villain in the fourth installment of the action film franchise.

Assuming that the deal is agreed upon, Hogan will be the second wrestler to play a villain role in “The Expendables” movie franchise following Steve ‘Stone Cold’ Austin, who teamed up with Eric Roberts to give Stallone, Jason Statham, and company fits in “The Expendables” shown in 2010.

Hulk Hogan will also be lined up with the big name action stars that previously played villains in subsequent “The Expendables” movies including Jean-Claude Van Damme and Mel Gibson.

Hulk Hogan and Sylvester Stallone have a history of working together. They first collaborated during the filming of “Rocky III” back in 1982.

The wrestling great actually disclosed about the initial talks that he recently had with Stallone while he was attending the annual Body Power Expo held in the UK in May.

He further revealed that he is being primed up to play the most evil man in the world and would thus become the next target of the mercenary group’s ire, guns, and rockets too.

The Hulkster has had his fair share of Hollywood movies and he has been hinting for years that a ‘hulked-up’ “The Expendables” sequel is what the franchise fans deserve, a comment that did not escape the attention of Sylvester Stallone who has also seen the potentials.

But at the ripe age of 62, Hulk Hogan says he is not sure if his body can still keep up with the action scenes that would be required of him in the movie, if ever, but he did acknowledge that maybe the producers could find a good stunt man to help him out in those scenes.

Surely, Hulk Hogan joining “The Expendables 4” movie would be most welcome to action movie fans as well as to the throngs of supporters of the Hulkster from the WWE ever since he broke ground in wrestling entertainment more than three decades ago.

Another wrestler for a second big bad

After Hulk Hogan, reports have it that Sylvester Stallone is also considering Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson to be part of “The Expendables 4.” Thus, it is likely that there will be two wrestlers who would be appearing in the fourth and latest installment of the popular action film franchise.

expendables 3

There have been previous reports that The Rock has also expressed interest in getting involved with “The Expendables 4” after seeing Ronda Rousey being part of the third movie and also on the idea thrown his way by his friend Terry Crews on an online public forum last year.

Apparently, The Rock said then that if he would be asked to become part of “The Expendables” franchise, he would gladly accept it.
