‘The Elder Scrolls 6’ Likely to Carry the Title ‘Argonia’ Instead of the Rumored ‘Redguard’ Upon Launched in June 2016

While game developer Bethesda Softworks has yet to make an announcement regarding the possible release date of its highly-anticipated role-playing game “The Elder Scrolls 6,” speculations going around lately indicate that it will finally be launched in June 2016, at next year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) event.

Bethesda took center stage during the E3 2015 last month after making plenty of reveals in a number of its popular video game franchises including the post-apocalyptic role-playing game “Fallout 4,” “Dishonored 2,” “The Evil Within,” “Doom” and even the puzzle game “Battlecry.” The developer was obviously setting the stage for the games’ eventual roll outs to the gaming consoles and the PC this year.

With most of its big games in its stable already out by June next year, it is expected that “The Elder Scrolls 6” will be Bethesda’s biggest game to be launched in 2016.

Toss-up for title name

There were reports that the official title of “The Elder Scrolls 6” is currently a toss-up between “Argonia” and “Redguard.”

While there have been previous reports that the official title of “The Elder Scrolls 6” will be “Argonia,” recent initiatives of the game developer to register and trademark the name “Redguard” has added to the confusion among gamers.

Some are saying that it would be “Argonia” while others are quite positive that Bethesda would call the next game as “Redguard.”

Although “Argonia” has the clear head start over “Redguard” as the main title of the next “The Elder Scrolls” game, the reasoning behind the latter seems quite convincing.

Accordingly, Bethesda has already trademarked “Redguard” from way back in 2011 and that it is an active and continuously renewed trademark of “The Elder Scrolls” franchise. All the other game trademarks including “Arena,” “Daggerfall,” and “Battlespire” are already inactive.

“Redguard” is the only “The Elder Scrolls” trademark that is not yet dead or not being used in a released game. Bethesda did the same too for “Skyrim” before its release in 2011.

But in the latest report of Yibada, it said that “The Elder Scrolls 6” would officially carry the title “Argonia.”

Accordingly, there has already been a game called “The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard” that was released by Bethesda back in 1998 so it is unlikely for the developer to use it again in its upcoming role-playing game.

A big surprise

According to Bethesda Softworks, the recently-released “The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited” was just a spin-off of the series and the highly-anticipated sixth installment will surprise fans and gamers big time.

Bethesda announced last week that it will reveal more information on what’s next on the “The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited” at the QuakeCon 2015 press conference to be held on July 24.

Meanwhile, Venture Capital Post noted that some of the gamers are complaining of the absence of the multiplayer option for “The Elder Scrolls 6.”

While Bethesda has not made any official statement to respond to player clamors, it is obvious that “The Elder Scrolls” franchise is already a remarkable success as a single-player third-person role-playing game so it does not have the pressure to make it good as well as a multiplayer game.

Gamers are also hoping that the combat systems and graphic perfection that were showcased in “The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim” will also be carried unto “The Elder Scrolls 6.”

Pete Hines, vice president of Bethesda Softworks, says he fully understands why fans of “The Elder Scrolls 6” were a bit slighted when the developer did not mention anything about the game during E3 2015.
