The role-playing game “The Elder Scrolls 6” is one of the most highly-anticipated video games in the international gaming community.
When game developer Bethesda Studios failed to announce anything about the game at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2015 last year, the reports back then were saying that next year’s event will be for “The Elder Scrolls 6.”
Unfortunately, the E3 2016 has come and gone but there was still no announcement about the latest iteration of the very popular video game franchise.
After the E3 2016, it was once again expected at the recently concluded Gamescom 2016 held in Cologne, Germany.
But Bethesda Studios did not make any announcement yet again at the Gamescom 2016 contrary to rumors previous to the event that the game developer shall make noise about “The Elder Scrolls 6,” notes the Gaming Bolt.
Confirmation and disappointment at the same time
It was Bethesda Studios VP of Marketing and PR Pete Hines who finally issued a clarification regarding the status of “The Elder Scrolls 6.”
He initially confirmed that the game is indeed now in development, which had fans of the game really delighted.
But he also went on to say that it would not be release anytime soon as it would be the third big video game title that would come out from the developer’s roster beginning soon.
Hines did not say exactly when will the first big title come out from Bethesda Studios but fans of “The Elder Scrolls” franchise should be happy with the fact that there is going to be a “The Elder Scrolls 6” game down the road in the future.
While Hines did not say it exactly, but the Maryland-based game developer is reportedly working on the first two big games at the moment so it is possible that “The Elder Scrolls 6” would get its needed attention in development anytime soon, notes iTech Post.
Some critics are also of the opinion that Bethesda Studios is taking its sweet time in the development of “The Elder Scrolls 6” in order to make sure that the game is already 100% perfect when it finally comes out.
Pushing the game’s release date
Incidentally, Bethesda made an announcement during the E3 2016 about “The Elder Scrolls 6” but only to say that it is pushing the launching of the game at a much later date contrary to previous assumptions that it will make it to the gaming consoles this year.
Pete Hines also said that the company is fully supportive of the decision of game director Todd Howard to move the release of “The Elder Scrolls 6” further down the line.
He explained further that Bethesda Studios should not be seen by both gamers and critics as a vending machine, adding that they are not a two-button device that alternated between “The Elder Scrolls” and the “Fallout” franchises.
Hines also added that the intention of Todd Howard and Bethesda Studios is to successfully turn their four latest games into Game of the Year contenders so it would not be different with their thrust for “The Elder Scrolls 6.”
He added that Howard and the game development company are working on the next 10 years and each project would give plenty of reasons to be excited about.
Reports have it that Bethesda is now fine-tuning “The Elder Scrolls 6” to make it the perfect “The Elder Scrolls” game in the franchise.
While waiting for the release of “The Elder Scrolls 6,” gamers should be content playing “The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited” and “The Elder Scrolls: Legends.”
Pete Hines revealed in another interview that Bethesda would not be teasing and hyping “The Elder Scrolls 6” for long.
He said that anything that Bethesda wants to do from a PR and marketing perspective always has implication on the developers.
Rather than stopping to make a shiny new demo build a few times a year for “The Elder Scrolls 6” for a five-year hype, the team will just stick to making the game.
