‘The Blacklist’ Season 4 to See Tom Keen Finding Himself in the Trunk of a Car; Ryan Eggold Wants to Keep Fans Guessing on Who Did It to His Character

During the Season 3 finale of the American crime drama TV series “The Blacklist” on NBC, Tom Keen, played by Ryan Eggold, has gone missing.

The rumors started saying that the actor has already exited the show to be able to focus on working with actress Famke Jansen in the spinoff TV series “The Blacklist: Redemption” also on the same network.

Now it seems that Ryan Eggold and his character Tom Keen, would not be going away from the original TV series or not just yet when “The Blacklist” premieres on NBC on September 22.

According to the latest reports, Tom Keen will find himself in the trunk of a car at the start of Season 4 of “The Blacklist” but the actor does not want fans to know who did it to his character in the TV series.

Ryan Eggold is not confirming who is responsible for doing that to his character in the show but he assured fans nonetheless that Tom will be able to escape the danger of the scene safely, reports the iTech Post.

He said that what the viewers could expect in Season 4 of “The Blacklist” is what would happen between Tom and Liz and their newborn baby girl, Agnes. He explained that the TV series will deal with the storyline right on the get-go of Season 4 before they make their way to a brand-new TV series, obviously referring to the spinoff show.

An award for the show’s creative team

Critics are pushing for an award on the creative team of “The Blacklist” for ingeniously incorporating Megan Boone’s real-life pregnancy and spinning it into a jaw-dropping series of twists during a surprisingly intense and moving back end of Season 3.

In a recent interview, showrunner Jon Bokenkamp said that even though the shape of the show has shifted because of Elizabeth ‘Liz” Keen, the character played by Megan Boone in the TV series, going missing in action and in the custody of her rumored father Alexander Kirk, played by Ulrich Thomsen, details Cinema Blend.

There were speculations saying that Megan Boone might not be around much for Season 4 of “The Blacklist” because of her recent pregnancy and eventual baby delivery. But the actress said that she is comfortable filming for the next season of the TV series and promised that the production staff would not hear any kind of complaints from her.

However, realistically speaking, it would take some time before Raymond ‘Red’ Reddington, played by James Spader, and Liz will be working together again as a well-oiled FBI investigating machine given the level of betrayal that Liz did to Red during the latter part of Season 3.

Some are saying that it will be a beat or two before the two of them get to bounce their anger off each other again and it is likely that Red is going to have a lot of say about it.

Continuing his search for Liz

Even when he was betrayed by Liz during Season 3, Red shall be starting his search for the beleaguered FBI agent who has been introduced to his true father Alexander Kirk.

It would seem that Red would be unmindful of the betrayal on him by Liz and he would try to do everything in his powers to get Liz back.

It could also be recalled that it was not just Red whom Liz fooled during Season 3 of “The Blacklist” but also the FBI Task Force, who shall finally learn that she is actually alive and that her death and funeral were all just cover-ups.

During the final episode of Season 3, Liz resorted to desperate measures to get her daughter Agnes away from Red and escape with her husband Tom Keen so that they can start a new life in Cuba.

Drawing help from Mr. Kaplan, played by Susan Blommaert, she almost managed to pull off the escape from Red if not for her abduction by her biological father Kirk, who also happens to be a nemesis of Red.
