A lot is coming up in the fourth season of “The Blacklist”, apparently, and the producers of the show have been getting more and more excited sharing previews and teasers about the season to get their fans talking. We’ve been seeing some quite peculiar scenes, and it looks like season 4 is going to continue the same wonderful style of mystery and deep personal exposition that we know the show for.
In a new teaser for season 4, we saw some interesting scenes that raised various questions among fans. For example, Red was seemingly trying to catch someone, and he wasn’t really trying to hold himself back, as he immediately got into an altercation with some unknown characters.
The meeting actually seemed to be a major point of the teaser, and it looks like the producers were trying to tell us something specific with that scene. What it is exactly is hard to tell, and of course revealing that mystery would probably spoil a major part of the new season, so we don’t really expect to find out the truth until the episodes arrive.
Meanwhile, Tom has been busy himself, trying to get rid of some of his problems. He was apparently burying a body, but once again, what exactly was going on in that scene was hard to tell. The trailer seemed to be intentionally produced in a confusing, somewhat misleading manner, leaving many of its parts open to speculation.
In the end, that’s probably exactly what the producers of the show wanted to happen, and we shouldn’t forget that “The Blacklist” is based to a large extent on the element of suspense and the unknown. It’s also possible that some of the scenes we saw in the trailer intentionally misrepresented what’s about to happen.
It does sound like this season is going to dig deeper into the personalities of some characters, as we’ve seen claims that it’s going to be a season full of “revelations”. This could of course be related to some of the plot points that are about to be developed in this season, and it might not mean revelations about the original characters themselves, but after all, this is “The Blacklist”.
Filming for the new season is already underway, and it’s been running for at least a month now, so we expect that the showrunners have already captured some of the more important scenes for this season. We also expect that this could lead to some interesting leaks over the next few weeks, so we would keep our eyes open.
The producers have also been teasing us with reports of a spin-off coming up, but we don’t know much about that. The only major claim we’ve seen going around is that the new show could potentially start at some point during this season of “The Blacklist” itself, so we might find out more about it in the coming weeks.
We definitely don’t expect to just get it as a surprise without an announcement, as the people behind “The Blacklist” have shown that they are very skilled at manipulating the discussions of their fans and generating hype with correctly timed teasers.
After all, it’s not that easy to get a show so popular with a brand new premise and lacking any major “hooks” to draw in viewers in large numbers, so it’s commendable that “The Blacklist” managed to get popular so quickly, and it’s remained at that level since.
