NBC’s “The Blacklist” Season 3 is currently on a brief hiatus, but when the show comes back on April 7th, it will sure make a grand return.
Fans will get to see Megan Boone’s Liz Keen walking down the aisle in episode 17 of the American crime drama, titled “Mr. Solomon.”
The former FBI agent is set to marry her fiancé Tom, played by Ryan Eggold. However, James Spader’s Raymond ‘Red’ Reddington is hell bent on making sure that no wedding will happen.
The network has released a promo trailer for the upcoming episode and it seems that blood will be shed during Liz and Tom’s wedding day.
In the teaser, Red arrives in the dressing room where Liz is getting ready. He then tries to discourage her saying that Tom isn’t the man she thinks he is. Red went on to say that Tom is a criminal and people like him does not really change.
Liz seems unfazed by Red’s speech and disagreed by saying that her fiancé has already changed. She obviously sticks by her decision in giving the father of her unborn child a second chance.
Melty notes that this season, the covert operative has really made an effort to transform himself into a better man especially when he learned about Liz’s pregnancy and his impending fatherhood.
He even risked his life and nearly got killed by his former girlfriend Gina Zanetakos, played by Margarita Levieva.
Despite all of Tom’s hard work to change for the better, Red still doesn’t believe that he has parted ways with the former criminal in him.
Red seems unconvinced of Tom’s honesty that he has indeed changed. He’s convinced that Tom will just leave Liz and their baby so he will make sure that no wedding happens even if he has to resort to violence.
In episode 16, titled “The Caretaker,” Tom proved that he was ready to turn over a new leaf by visiting Gina to call a truce so that he could finally live a peaceful life with Liz and their child.
In the promo video, it cuts to a scene where Liz and Tom are proceeding to their wedding inside the church and Red and Hisham Tawfiq’s Dembe are seen heavily armed outside.
The event is then described as the Red wedding. Reports say that the former Naval Intelligence officer will wreak havoc just for Liz to not be Mrs. Keen. Melty suggests that Red and his men will be kidnapping the bride.
According to Christian Today, the episode could hint that either Liz or Tom won’t survive this season, but fans of the series say that it’s Tom who will be saying goodbye in episode 17.
A major hint was the last scene of episode 16 where Gina made a phone call to The Major that they weren’t finished with Tom yet.
There are speculations saying that Gina’s group was the one attacking the wedding and Red and Dembe were seen at gunpoint to help the bride and groom.
During the last episode, fans witnessed what seemed to be Liz cutting off all her ties with Red as she finally discovered that her mother was still alive and that Reddington knew all along and kept it from her.
Speaking of Liz’s mother, the Ecumenical News reports that the remaining episodes of the season will be allotted to learn more about the Russian special agent Katerina Rostova.
Liz originally thought that her mother committed suicide, but was taken for a total spin when she found out that she was still alive.
What’s worse was that she found out that Red has been keeping it all from her all this time. Liz was able to uncover this while they were hunting another person in the Blacklist known as The Caretaker.
