Season 3 of the American crime drama TV series “The Blacklist” on NBC moves into its third to the last episode on April 28 with its episode 20 entitled “The Artax Network.”
Based on the spoilers and photos of the upcoming episode, it will actually feature the funeral of Elizabeth Keen, played by Megan Boone, who was killed in episode 18, which came out as shocking not only to fans of the TV series but also to Raymond Reddington, played by James Spader.
In the 18th episode of “The Blacklist,” it showed Solomon, played by Edi Gathegi, continuing his pursuit of Liz and Tom Keen, played by Ryan Eggold, through data surveillance. Liz, who was very pregnant, got injured in a car accident during the chase and thus endangering her baby.
Mr. Kaplan, played by Susan Blommaert, takes them to a secure location where Reddington’s medical team is waiting just like when Reddington was shot back in Season 2.
Nick, the surgeon, and Liz’s former boyfriend, decides to perform an emergency Caesarian section to save her baby even as Mr. Kaplan rebukes Reddington for endangering Liz and her baby.
The Caesarian was successful and Liz named her baby Agnes after her adoptive grandmother. But due to a complication on her blood, she was put into a medically induced coma but needed to be taken to the hospital. Reddington sends out an empty ambulance as a decoy but Solomon’s men still managed to find and stop the real ambulance where Liz was inside.
The FBI arrives and kills Solomon’s men but Solomon managed to escape. Donald Ressler, played by Diego Klattenhoff, found that Liz has already died inside the ambulance. Reddington goes to comfort Tom as he watches over Agnes.
Faking Liz Keen’s death
In the following 19th episode, Liz Keen was not featured but only Reddington and another female, which turned out to be just his memory of Liz’s mother Katarina Rostova.
Photos of the upcoming 20th episode of “The Blacklist” have shown Agent Ressler and Liz Keen’s former co-workers in the FBI carrying her coffin and gathering at the cemetery for her funeral.
Most of the fans of “The Blacklist” are still not convinced that Liz Keen is already dead. They believe that Reddington faked Liz Keen’s death to protect her at first but after the 19th episode, where Red is shown grieving Liz’s demise, they believe it was not Red who faked it but someone else, reports Celeb Dirty Laundry.
Before the start of Season 3 of “The Blacklist,” the real-life pregnancy of Megan Boone with fiancé Dan Estabrook was already reported and executive producer Jon Bokenkamp said that it shall be integrated into the storyline. So Liz got pregnant by Tom and they even got married in episode 16 of Season 3.
A shock for Reddington
Such speculation appears to be holding water at the moment especially with reports swirling around that somebody close to Reddington will be betraying him.
As it is, the only two people who are very close to Reddington are Dembe, played by Hisham Tawfiq, and Mr. Kaplan, notes the International Business Times.
Having Dembe turn against Reddington would be a huge surprise but it seems unlikely because he and Reddington have been through a lot.
But the bet is on Mr. Kaplan as she appears to have that look on her face on episode 18 that she knew what was about to happen to Liz before it actually occurred. The guess is that Mr. Kaplan has a secret plan unbeknown to Reddington.
With “The Blacklist” already greenlighted for Season 4, the chance of Liz still being alive is very high. The show is also known for bringing a major character back from the dead including Tom Keen who was already shot dead in Season 1 but still came back well in Season 2.
Late last month, there were also reports confirming that “The Blacklist” shall soon have a spinoff show.

Actually, reddington is liz’s mother…remember that episode where the blacklister can change people’s appearances and make them disappear? Cape May episode showed us that because of Red’s grief, he’s having flashbacks of his past..that woman also played the same song on the piano that Red plays. All through the episode, they’re actually giving us clues to support my theory…like in the last part where the woman touched red’s face and said that he chose well. I think she meant he chose a good face, as a disguise. ;-)
It is pretty obvious, Mr. Kaplan decided that Red was endangering Liz over and over. Now, the baby. So, when Liz makes Red leave the room, the doctor, who still carries a torch for Liz, gives her a drug that slows her heart. Kaplan wisks her body away somewhere she and Tom can be safe from Reds enemies. This gives Megan Boone time to have her real baby and return in the next season. I can;t wait to see what Red does when he finds out.
Please say she is DEAD. Watching the show is like watching a returning champ on jeopardy playing against Turd Ferguson. Reddington is brilliant and her character is completely useless. They should call her Agent Dunsel.
I just hope she is not dead coz she is my fav. character so far,,,I so love Agent Keen people!
