Ever since “The Big Bang Theory'”was renewed for a 10th season, fans have been wondering if it will be the last season of the CBS sitcom.
However, reports are suggesting that the hit series will be welcoming its 11th season next year. This, despite all the stars contracts’ expiring after the current season.
The ratings are also considered to be a major factor for the show to continue on. The show has been on the air for 10 years and it looks like the viewership won’t be waning down anytime soon.
Executive producers have long stated that the great thing about their characters and the story is that they never run out of stories to tell.
According to reports, lead stars Kaley Cuoco and Johnny Galecki, who plays Penny and Leonard, respectively, are on board for another season on the condition of another salary raise.
It can be recalled that before production for the eighth season began, the stars renegotiated their contracts, with Galecki, Parsons, and Cuoco seeking around $1 million per episode.
Parent Herald suggests that other cast members are also on board for one more season. However, it looks like the show might be going forward without one of its stars, Sheldon.
Accordingly, Jim Parsons, who plays the iconic character, Sheldon Cooper, might be leaving the show to work on his new TV series titled “Lance.20.”
Parsons has signed up to work behind the scenes for the comedy series, which follows a young couple as they deal with the aftermath of an accident that changes the boyfriend’s personality and causes him to lose his impulse control.
Variety reports that Parsons, along with Todd Spiewak will work as executive producer for the show. The media outlet adds that Parsons has always carried a passion for working in production and that he is very well focused on his new project.
While being the funny Sheldon Cooper, the 43-year-old actor is already serving as executive producer for plenty of comedy shows such as “‘Lakeside VA,” “The Terranuts,” and “The Monarchy is Going to Sh*t.”
Reports suggest that handling four shows will obviously be difficult for Parsons to juggle his acting schedule. Hence, him leaving the CBS comedy after the current 10th season.
Fans state that the show would feel very different without Sheldon in it, especially given his character growth in the current season and his growing relationship with Amy, played by Mayim Bialik.
However, there has been no confirmation about a Season 11 renewal or Parsons leaving “The Big Bang Theory” so fans might have to wait until CBS or showrunner Steve Molaro gives an official announcement.
Meanwhile, the show’s 10th episode did not air in its normal timeslot last week in lieu of the Thanksgiving holiday.
During the last episode, Sheldon learned that Bert won a MacArthur Fellowship prize for his work on endolithic organisms, and dealt with his professional jealousy. In order to make peace, Sheldon goes with Bert to a taping of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”
Howard also built a remote controlled miniature Stephen Hawking, and while everyone, with the exception of Kripke, thought it was offensive, Hawking actually liked the idea.
The upcoming episode, titled “The Property Division Collision” will see Sheldon and Leonard getting into a fight over their shared possessions after the two are no longer roommates.
Now that Penny and Leonard are married and Sheldon and Amy have moved in together, the former roommates decided that Leonard and Penny find a new home where they can start building a family.
The official synopsis of the episode claims that aside from fighting over their possessions, they must also remove Penny’s things from 4B.
