The series finale of Season 8 of the long-running American sitcom “The Big Bang Theory” wrapped up on a sad note on May 7 as Sheldon and Amy broke up just when Sheldon was about to propose to Amy.
Season 9 of the show will return later this year on CBS and this early, fans of the hit and very popular TV series are already predicting that Sheldon and Amy will get back together again.
Majority of fan comments on forum sites really indicate that they want a reunion between Sheldon and Amy if only to continue their relationship which they feel is really for the long haul, notes the International Business Times of UK.
Holding on to the split
Some other fans think that the show would probably hold on to the breakup plotline and milk it for the most part of Season 9 before having Sheldon and Amy reuniting towards the end of the season.
It seems to be what showrunner Steve Molaro has in mind when he said in a recent interview that he does not know exactly where the relationship of Sheldon and Amy stands after being romantically involved for the past five years.
It would be more of a question for both Sheldon and Amy where they want to go in their relationship or how they see their future despite being obvious that the two of them still love each other.
Molaro also said that he does not know the length of time of the breakup between Sheldon and Amy but he said that the situation is quite interesting enough for the show to really dig into.
Love problems
Season 9 of “The Big Bang Theory” will not just be focusing on the Sheldon-Amy relationship but also on the love problems of the other cast members of the show.
While the throngs of fans of the show are surely saddened with the breakup of Amy and Sheldon during the series finale of Season 8, it will not just be the couple who will have to deal with strained relationships come the ninth season of the top-rating TV show.
According to Steve Molaro, in addition to Amy and Sheldon, there is also the hanging question during the series finale of Season 8 whether Penny and Leonard will tie the knot in Las Vegas as they earlier planned despite Leonard’s revelation that he previously kissed another girl.
Mollaro also added that the relationship of Raj and Emily will also be tested in Season 9 as Raj tries to find a way to solve his problem of communicating well with women.
While Raj may have shown some progress with his problem, it seems that he still has a lot of work to do. Mollaro disclosed that it is possible that Raj will finally overcome his dilemma come Season 9 as he is reportedly about to face an even bigger problem within him.
The showrunner revealed that Raj is in an interesting position in the show right now. So he’ll have to deal with himself whether he will push through with his relationship with Emily or not.
Not everyone LIKES Sheldon and Amy. I can’t even be bothered watching anymore because it’s all about their relationship and I find them so forced. Sheldon and Penny would have been better.
It will be sad to watch the show without them being together, i always look forward to their scenes

sheldon and penny would have ruined the whole show premise and the gang friendship, plus they see each other as siblings/mother/son, they literally have said that out loud
Amy has ruined the show…she’s unwatchable ..millions agree…Sheldon absolutely should have hooked up with someone completely different …think of the jokes….Amy is forced and not funny this used to be about 4 geeks now its turned into a remake of Friends….sad
