Whether or not it will be something positive though, we don’t know. Things can go both ways at this point, and the writers might decide to use this as a tool for “growing” Sheldon and making his character more mature.
Or, on the other hand, they could also use it as a point that will truly strengthen the relationship between him and Amy, something that they will manage to overcome together and will end up positively for both of them.
We really don’t know right now, but there seem to be some big plans for the show’s next season, so we’re eager to see what the new episodes will bring. And in any case, Sheldon will probably be back to his regular self soon enough – it wouldn’t really be in the spirit of the show otherwise, as it would push it to a darker, more serious tone that most fans probably don’t want to see.
