After the dramatic ending to the last season of “The Big Bang Theory”, fans of the show have been anxiously waiting for any news about the new season. Producers of the show have been keeping mostly quiet about their current work, but we do know that season 9 is coming, and now they’ve announced the official premiere date for its first episode – 21 September. After that, it’s going to return to its regular broadcast schedule on 5 November.
What are we going to see in the new season? The most important point for many fans of the show seems to be the relationship between Sheldon and Amy, which took a dramatic turn at the end of season 8 when Amy decided to put an end to it. She revealed that she has been feeling uncomfortable with the relationship for a while, and even though she loves Sheldon, she wants to break up with him in order to get some space.
Meanwhile, Sheldon had just been getting ready to propose to her in order to solidify the future of the couple, and the revelation came as a big shock to him. One of the conflicts depicted in this break-up was the fact that Amy apparently didn’t see any true growth in their relationship, while Sheldon on the other hand was just getting ready to take it to the next level with a very serious act.
Could there be a positive resolution to all that? Before we get there, we would have to first see how Sheldon handles the break-up, as he is not like most people when it comes to romance and tends to approach these matters slightly differently.
According to people involved in the production, the relationship isn’t a closed book at this point. They want to revisit it and explore it in more detail, but we don’t know how this is going to be done exactly, or what the implications for Sheldon could be. The character will likely have to “prepare” for a dramatic new season, but as long as he pulls himself together, he should be able to get over the break-up.
The producers of the show have also given hints that Sheldon is still very fond of Amy and he isn’t about to just give up on their relationship, and he’s likely going to try to win her back in some way. We’re not sure exactly how he’s going to go about that, as Amy made it clear that her mind is already made up, but Sheldon can be quite creative when he puts his mind to a problem, so we don’t doubt that something is going to happen.
I HOPE NOT. I want Amy to buggar off and date someone else. Sheldon should be single. That ring was a joke.
