Sorry to disappoint ShAmy fans but it looks like it might take a while before the power couple of the long-running sitcom “The Big Bang Theory” to get back together as the latest episode of the CBS TV series will introduce Sheldon’s new love interest.
“America’s Next Top Model” alum Analeigh Tipton will guest star in Season 9 episode 8 titled “The Mystery Date Observation.”
Interestingly, Analeigh has already appeared on the show as herself back in 2008 during the episode titled “The Panty Pinata Polarization” where Raj, played by Kunar Nayyar, and Howard, played by Simon Helberg, decided to locate the house where the “America’s Next Top Model” contestant is staying.
According to Cinema Blend, the 27-year-old model will now play a new character named Vanessa. The teaser for the episode shows Jim Parson’s Sheldon opening the door for her in what seemed to be their first date.
As per the synopsis of the episode, Raj and Howard are on a mission to find a woman Sheldon can date and it seems like the duo recommended Vanessa for that.
Sheldon has tapped the duo to find him a suitable date as they were responsible for pairing him with Amy before and Dr. Cooper hopes that Raj and Howard’s matchmaking powers will work again.
After being the third-runner up of “America’s Next Top Model” cycle 11, Tipton also starred in her own TV show, the now defunct “Manhattan Love Story.” She also ventured into films such as “Crazy, Stupid Love,” “Warm Bodies,” and “Two-Night Stand.”
Meanwhile, Mayim Bialik’s Amy is about to go on a date as well and Penny, played by Kaley Cuoco, Leonard, played by Johnny Galecki, and Bernadette, played by Melissa Rauch, set out to spy on her and her new guy.
The past episodes have had fans heard Amy talking about her new guy, Dave, and the last episode finally put a face to the name. Stephen Merchant has signed up for a guest star role on the hit comedy to play Amy’s new love interest.
The catch is Amy will find out that Dave is a huge fan of Sheldon’s work and frustrates her as her date wants to know more about her ex-boyfriend rather than her.
According to reports, Tipton has only signed up for one episode but showrunner Steve Molaro is open to the possibility that Sheldon and Vannesa could develop into something more.
The executive producer and the creative team themselves admitted that they don’t know if Sheldon and Amy will get back together so they’re keeping many doors open as possible for the two.
During the last episode, the show paid tribute to Leonard Nimoy as Will Weaton arranged Sheldon to be interviewed for a documentary about Spock and Nimoy by his son, Adam. Fans also liked the episode as it showed Cooper being all sentimental while reliving his aborted proposal to Amy.
Sheldon also opened up to Penny and Leonard about previously wanting to give the Cooper heirloom to Amy before everything went downhill for them. He then plans to push through the proposal just for closure but is devastated when he sees Amy and Dave kissing.
Bernadette and Howard also clash as the former tries to renovate their house much to Howard’s disagreement. The couple also has differing views on having kids to which Raj theorizes that Howard’s childish behavior may be the reason he still doesn’t want to be a father.
But it looks like in the next episode, the physicist is ready to go out and proclaim that he is in the market once again.
The multi-awarded comedy series has been enjoying good ratings for its ninth season, but lead star Kaley Cuoco is obviously still trying to keep herself together after a tough year.
The 29-year-old actress just got divorced with tennis player Ryan Sweeting last September after being married for almost two years.
